We made a journey through the lands of the Sami Finland, Sweden and Norway. The Lofoten stay was exciting: the rorbu was a small fisherman's house with everything we needed: a hall, bathroom, living room, kitchen - door to the terrace along the river with table and bank; upstairs 2 sleeping rooms. We only were disturbed by the mosquitos, and... More

We went to northern Norway on a road trip with another couple and we enjoyed this location immensely. We got the upper floor of an old wooden house with two bedrooms, a living room, separate kitchen with dining table and a big bathroom. They had some issues with bathrooms in this building so we were rehoused in tskheller rorbuferie. Service from central booking establishment was good. Kabelvag has one pub, one restaurant, one supermarket and one fast food/corner store (mix). Taxis between airport, solver etc are expensive. Buses are infrequent (1-2 hours or more between buses). I would recommend bringing a car.

These cabins are absolutely full of character and have seriously fabulous views. The reception staff were friendly and the village was small but very pretty. You are paying for the pleasure of staying in a cosy early 20th century cottage rather than luxury here. Pricewise - not bad (for norway!)
