Our agent recommended this place and it was more than we anticipated, fantastic views across frozen lake, Like Narnia! We upgraded to lake view and balcony. Comfortable bed and room and lovely staff. The snow was deep and the sun shined. They have a fabulous buffet lunch and the evening meal is set 3 course but good. Breakfast is a... More

Great food, small cozy rooms, and a great place to xc ski or just enjoy the winter. We've been coming here in March for years. The bus stops right in the parking lot, so it's easy to get back and forth to Lillehammer and the train station even without a car. If you're in Norway on the winter this is... More

True to my promise I returned during the Paske Ferie (Easter Holiday) for the non Norwegian speakers. After the January trip I managed to reserve the last available room for myself, my son and his wife. We had the most incredible weather with full sun, blue sky and temperatures between -3 C to -7C. For the wax experts and beginners... More

We stayed three nights at Hotel Rustad in early March and would have stayed longer, if we'd had the time. The Hotel is run by the Rustad family and has a homely, relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Although we didn't get a lot of information on our arrival (perhaps we were seen as regulars who knew their way around) we found... More

Decided to book the week after New Year to have piece and quiet. The hotel was excellent and the food was of a very high quality and certainly appreciated (and needed) after a long days cross county skiing on some of the best trails in the world! The wax room was very helpful, well equipped and spacious. The staff were... More

This is great place for a bit of genuine-feeling Norwegian home style, but in a medium size hotel that offers a lot of facilties and exceptional food. Run by several generations of the Rustad family for decades. The location close by the lake is lovely, and the hotel is well located for the cross country skiing trails. There are a... More

I have been to Rustad many years. When I was a kid in the 1980s and again 3 times after year 2000. It is the cosiest of all places. The owners have been there for 4 decades, giving it a true personal atmosphere. The food is very tasty and plenty. And the architecture is kept true to the intentions way... More
