I have been to Sunrise many times over the years. It is still owned by Phum, a very kind-hearted Thai lady who I always call in to say hello to whenever I am in Samui. Over the years she and her family gradually upgraded the place from some small tent like huts made of palm leaves which only had the... More

We stayed for four nights and had a beautiful time on the island and in this peaceful, well kept and perfectly located resort. The bungalows are close to the beach (really liked this part of Lamai beach better than the full and dirty Chaweng beach) and everybody was very friendly. Situated at the very end/ beginning of Lamai, the beach... More

When I booked the holiday I wanted to be on the beach, or as close too as possible, I could of paid four or five times the price to be in a flash 5 star hotel just up the beach front, but I wanted traditional. I stayed for 15 nights here, and was made to feel perfectly at home by... More

Unfortunately, realized too late that $600 was missing from my money belt. I left it at the room b/c I didn't want to take it to the beach with me. Thinking back on it, it was stupid of me to carry so much cash on me, but at the time, the alternative seemed riskier. Other thoughts: Location is great, quiet... More

I recently stayed at Sunrise Bungalows with 4 of my friends. We rented the basic bungalows and it is very basic. The room has a double bed and private bathroom. My room was not even 100m from the sea and you could hear the waves early in the morning. The owner went out of her way to make our stay... More

After reading so many good reviews about this place we were quite disappointed once we had arrived. For the price you pay (950 baht per night) for a concrete bungalow you would expect to have cable tv, air con, hot water from the shower and a kettle, but sadly our room lacked all of these basic amenities. The beach is... More

We stayed in the stone bungalows with a fan and hot shower. It was a good size room and situated in a beautiful garden. The location is absolutely amazing. Right on your doorstep is the beach and you are at the end of it so there are not as many people. The gym there does the trick, but it is... More

We stayed three nights in a basic fan bungalow right at the beach (550 B per night) and really enjoyed our stay! If you want to escape the loud Lamai Main Beach, this will be the right place to stay for you! It is in the south corner of Lamai Beach near the "grandfather and grandmother rocks". Our room was...
