Utopia is a small, very familiar Ressort, where time seems to take a break (in a positive way). Everything and everybody seems to be extremely relaxed. If you are looking for that special vaccation thai-style, this is your place. If you are looking for the usual all-polished look alike fancy residence, you are in the wrong place. The bungalows are... More

Stayed here 5 days. Very nice staff, and clean quiet rooms. Have ok fast wifi. And I didn't see any Russians or Israeli either. Which normally is good for the noise level. Restaurant have good thai food, didn't try any of the European menu.

Stayed +1 week at Utopia in July 2014 and enjoyed the stay. For the money you pay (1200tbh/night w/ abf , low season rate) we found this a bargain. Large bungalows but a bit worn down - not bad but not built yesterday. Location is great, 20 meter to the beach and right on the Lamai street. Quiet place but... More

OK we wanted a budget hotel for a few nights while we go on tours. So we shopped around and found Utopia. We paid 1500 THB for three including breakfast and that was the cheapest we can find at that time. The breaky is a set menu and nothing fancy. Room is average, AC is good, fridge good, bed OK...but... More

Stayed for four nights. Had a cheap, OK room with AC. They cleaned it every day. Not so quiet room though..close to the road with pretty much traffic in early mornings...but I fell asleep anyway :) Stuff was very friendly, specially the young guy with brase at the Utopia restaurant!

If you are seeking a less traveled beach with less nightlife and noise than Chewang beach to the north of Lamai, this is a simple but very good option. the bungalows are not luxurious, but if you're coming here to stay in the room you are making a mistake anyway.... everything is clean and well maintained, the beach front is...
