We checked into this hotel yesterday and upon arrival were very disappointed to see that the majority of the hotel is undergoing renovations, including the pool overlooking the beach. I would advise not to book this hotel for a few weeks/ a month at least to allow work to be done as I can imagine this being a fantastic resort... More

One week into a two week stay and very happy with the hotel. Room in main building is excellent, large, hard bed, panelled walls (in keeping with colonial feel and look), large shower and balcony overlooking pool. Quiet end of Lamai beach and busy road links to main centre of resort but main hotel is set back so noise is... More

We stayed for two nights and felt really comfortable. The rooms are amazing, really spacious, nicely designed, good view from the balcony and clean. They serve a nice breakfast including fresh fruits, bread and they also offer an egg station. The hotel has two pools, one which is opposite of the hotel near the ocean. The beach is not very... We stayed 2 nights at the resort. The breakfast is buffet style with fresh made omelettes, full fruit selections, yoghurt and muesli with nuts and seeds and toast/pastries. Perfect. The room was beautiful and felt like a cottage retreat. The bed was very firm, but that didn't take away from the nights rest. There are many restaurants close by (walking... More

I wasn't sure what I'd make of Samui and initially booked a night here thinking we would prefer one of the other islands. We ended up coming back for three more and it was our favourite hotel in Thailand. If you want a quiet place to relax, unwind and sunbathe by the beach or pool I couldn't think of a... More

We arrived here to spend four days here before moving on to Koh Pangan. As a whole we weren't really keen on Samui, at least what we saw of it. The hotel however was lovely. Friendly staff and a lovely reception area. The rooms are lovely i n a colonial style. They're a little worn around the edges, there was... More

Returning to Buddy’s (or its new name!) is always like coming home for my wife and I as we have an annual trip to Samui for a cleanse at Spa Samui (well, my wife does – I don’t!) and it is amazing there, admittedly not the best beach but so incredibly chilled and amazing restaurant so well worth a visit... We had an enjoyable stay during our brief (3 night) stay at Buddy Oriental. The staff were outstanding and helped us book many boat trips and taxis in to town. The room had charming wooden decor and was spotlessly clean. The hotel benefits from two pools. The internal pool is smaller but comfortable and perfect for chilling out in the... More

I wanted to commend the hotel on their prompt attention to an erroneous credit card charge that was not noticed till we got home. We enjoyed our stay at the Buddy Oriental. The rooms were full of character, a simply amazing breakfast included and a lovely pool by the ocean. Yes, the traffic was there, but two walking guards were... More
