What a beautiful and special experience it was to be welcomed by Colin and Matt, their attention to detail is outstanding. Our cottage was immaculate and the dinner was gourmet level. We really felt so welcome, and were treated like family. We had such amazing times at their unique bar, surrounded by the stunning scenery. Thank you Colin and Matt... More

We slept over at The Lord's Lodge for one night and had an amazing time. The Cottage we stayed in had an awesome view overlooking the valley down to McGregor. There were absolutely nothing that I would want to change... from the cottage, view, food to the service - everything was excellent. Thanks to Colin, Matt and Mari-Louise!

We stayed over for one night on our way home from Cape Town and we could not be happier with the lodge. Everything is truly beautiful, well run and value for money. We stayed in one of the alone standing cottages, Cameron, which was perfect, spacious, clean and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food... More

What a wonderful experience...where to start? Coming around true bend and seeing the Lodge on the hill is a breathtaking view. From the moment you book in to the day you leave you are treated like friends. The views are unsurpassed , the rooms are beautiful, spacious and romantic. We loved the percale bedding, fire place with wood supplied, the... More

From the moment we arrived we felt at home by Colin and Mat. We stayed in a cottage named Cameron and our friends in a cottage named Mc Gregor near by the bar and restaurant. In the cottages there's a bedroom sitting area with fire place and a bathroom. The food was excellent and also were the wine and drinks.... More

From the moment we arrived to a warm welcome we felt at home by Colin, Matt and the whole team. All of the buildings are made from stone with thatched roofs and include sprung wooden flooring. We had magnifent views of the snow topped mountains in the distance. We stayed in a stand alone thatched cottage a short walk from... More

I stayed at Lord's in August 2011 for the Robertson Slow Wine Festival. I was part of a group so knew nothing about the accommodation until I arrived. The facilities are lovely, beautiful views, rooms are clean and well decorated so no complaint there. I found the food mediocre and the attitude of the staff poor. An incident on our... More

Macgregor is a unique place to visit. And this establishment (with its Lady Jane Grey restaurant) is without doubt the best place to stay when you do. Macgregor itself is a village of extraordinary variety: art (real art) and crafts, pubs, cafes and bistros as well as the Temenos retreat centre with its beautiful meditation-garden, theatre/cinema and library. The Lodge,... More
