I used this guesthouse regularly in 2014 and 2015, this was one of my favorite as I frequently travelled in KZN. Despite the clean rooms, and wonderful dinners, the best experience was the friendly staff who went out of the way to ensure that the guest is comfortable.

We went to Marula Place for the 7th time now. it is everytime like coming home. Nice luxury rooms with airconditioning and the most friendly people. Breakfast is outstanding and if you want to eat dinner it is well worth staying there. It is very close to a gamepark (Impholozi) and only 20 min drive from the beach in St.Lucia... More

We had not pre booked our accommodation at the B &B and only arrived after 5 , we were given a warm reception on the phone and a huge amount of patience in giving us directions, we arrived to a wonderful welcome and our room was an awesome cool retreat after a hot day traveling, nice tea and coffee in... Absolutely beautiful b&b to stay. Rooms were absolutely beautiful; loved the lake view, hot water bottles, and gorgeous furnishings. I had a bubble bath nearly every night! The people were lovely and packed us a delicious breakfast (freshly baked scones!) to go. Location is very near town with the supermarket walking distance. We even left some belongings there and they... More

I have had the opportunity to stay at this B&B for a few evenings while living in the area temporarily for work, and have found it an absolute delight. The hosts are warm and welcoming, and the place is beautiful. Each room is tastefully decorated in its own unique style, and the extensive gardens are magical. My two favorites are... More

I last stayed at Mtuba B'B in March 2010, and have stayed there on a number of occasions over the last two years. I've always enjoyed excellent, friendly service, luxurious comfort in the rooms, and gourmet food. I'm looking forward to going back for another visit next year. In particular I've enjoyed interacting with the staff at Mtuba B&B who... More

I was sorry to read such a bad review of a guest house I'm very fond of, and have had such good experiences at over the years. I live in Cape Town, but frequently consult in the St Lucia area, and have stayed at Mtuba B&B on various occasions over the last eight years. This sounds like a Perfect Storm... More

Booked this up last Autumn after seeing a wonderful website and having been told anything in Greenwood Guide was excellent by advisors on South Africa Forum. All I can say is that it went from bad to worse - one's total holiday nightmare! Arrived at Mtubatuba B&B, awaiting the marvelous welcome from informative hosts as advertised on site but nobody...
