We spent 10 days here and hired a car. We felt it was poor value as a hotel booked through Thomson/Citalia. Most people we spoke to had paid had booked through alternative agents and got far better deals. The food was poor and varied tremendously. Never saw any local produce being used. Would have been lovely to have had some... More

The setting of this lovely hotel is peace and tranquillity incarnate. Surrounded by olive groves and housed in a building steeped in history, we would defy anyone not to be seduced by the atmosphere. This is enhanced by the lovely staff throughout the hotel. Everyone we met was fantastic both in terms of friendliness and efficiency. The complimentary cookery course... More

Really loved our stay at this hotel. We were a family of 6 and the hotel gave us great rooms next to each other, with an interconnecting balcony. The history and charm of the buildings was an added bonus. The pool has really good facilities, two outdoor pools and a tennis court plus a spa area for treatments and relaxation. The... More

Location is beautiful but very remote.. Hire car a must if you want to see the villages and surounding countryside. Nearest supermarket is 7.5km away so get your provisions in before you get to the hotel. Staff are cheerful and very helpful and hardworking. The food is varied, some food is better than others but we enjoyed the majority of... More

We stopped for a week in August at the Relais il Canalicchio in Umbria, booking the half board stay through Fleetway Travel. We decided not to rent a car as there were trips out arranged by the hotel, which enabled us to see the cities of Perugia ( the regional capital) and Assisi and indulge in a wine tour (... More

We booked this holiday as bed and breakfast having never visited Umbria before. The setting for this hotel is superb, we hired a car from Rome Airport, 2 hours drive away, and it was an easy drive. The location is stunning and the hotel buildings sympathetically renovated into a great hotel. Rooms are very spacious and the view from our... More

Booked this as a 1 week stay through Fleetway travel. Flights + half board. Overall good value. I decided to rent a car from the airport so did not take up the free transfer that was part of the deal. Check in was quick & easy. When shown to our room (No.101) we were extremely disappointed. The Fleetway deal was... More

Like many others staying here we booked a 5 night stay with Fleetway Travel for a very reasonable price. Originally a monastery it was converted into an hotel in the 1990s and is ideal for both total relaxation or exploring surrounding Umbria or both if staying for longer. Many fellow residents hired a car at the airport and made trips... More

This is a wonderfully relaxing haven high up on a hill overlooking olive groves. The hotel is very atmospheric and calm with two pools and a lovely big terrace again with stunning views. Bedrooms are a little tired and could do with freshening up and better air conditioning but they have an air of charm and character. We slept very... More

Stunning. Stunning. Stunning. The setting is just stunning. Rustic yet modern, surrounded by miles and miles of Italian countryside: oVineyards, sunflower fields, olive groves and the best sun sets ever all seen from your room and the terrace restaurant. The welcome: second to none. The staff really are fantastic. Ciso, Mani, Lisa and Aldo to name but a few. They... More
