Stayed at the Demidoff for only 1 night as part of a Cosmos tour. it was the best hotel we stayed in!! Lovely views, tranquil surroundings. My advice would be "don't stay there". I have stayed at better two star hotels. It is 20 minutes outside of Florence, although they provide an infrequent minibus transfer service, this gets full and may only be able to take you one way - and doesn't run for four hours at lunchtime.
