We had dinner in the very charming garden in mid-July, and really enjoyed both the food and the great ambiance of the outside garden. Professional and friendly service, and very good value for the quality of the food. Our two girls of 3 and 6 also enjoyed being able to play in the garden, so it is a good place... More

We stayed in this beautiful hilltop town for three nights. When we arrived at reception, everyone was extremely welcoming and accommodating, and they continued to be helpful and charming throughout our visit. The hotel is a family business; the proprietor, Nino, is grandson of Felice Rocca, who opened the restaurant ‘Felicin’ in 1927. I think my favorite moment was when... More

We stayed for 3 nights in the suite up on the hill. View was spectacular and accommodation was warm, clean, and spacious. The suites are apartments with full kitchen if you wanted to cook, but why would you with the amount of delicious restaurants in the area. But nonetheless nice option if you needed a kitchen. Customer service is great... More

The residence and Ristorante are everything the prior reviewers have said. An epicurian delight. The residence is up a pretty steep hill nearby the ristorante. Views are gorgeous and within close proximity to the best wines in Italy (if not the world). Nin, Sylvia and the boys are wonderful hosts. Top recommendation.

The hotel's restaurant was recommended to us by our neighbors from California. The staff, particularly Nino and his wife made us feel very welcome by their genuine warmth and hospitality. The off menu food recommended by Nino was spectacular, since he decided on every course and wine selection. This left us to focus on enjoying a four hour dinner with... More

On a recent walking holiday this was the last hotel we stayed at. On the day we walked to it the heavens opened, thunder, lightning, the lot. We had phoned ahead to let Nino know what time to expect us but, as we were a bit early, we were looking for a bar to have a drink when a car... More

Came spur of the moment and so happy we did. Niño and Silvia were so lovely and all the family too. Absolutely gorgeous views and wine and we got lucky to have the Barolo Boys wine tasting on so had an extra special treat! The restaurant is fabulous, no need to order as they take such amazing care of you... More

Our annual visit to Monforte would not be complete without a visit to Nino and Silvia's wonderful restaurant. This time dinner did not disappoint. Nino marries fresh local ingredients with tasty regional recipes to produce some of the best cuisine we've ever tasted. He's creative and very talented (and a great guy!). We look forward to next in the Langhe.

We enjoyed our terrace immensely, drinking wines and looking at the snow-capped Alps. Just a five-minute walk into the center of Monforte d'Alba, it is worth the extra money to stay at the Abbey. The rooms were very spacious and modern but it is worthwhile to ask to see what the Abbey looked like before all the renovations.
