We enjoyed a great week-long stay at this very peaceful rural location. As others have commented, the 2 km rough track leading to Borgo di Vagli is not for the faint-hearted, but once you have successfully negotiated this you arrive at a real haven of peace and tranquillity (apart from when the gardeners are at work!). The staff could not... More

Adjusting your expectations is critical in coming to this "luxury" promoted "rough and ready" rural Tuscan mountain resort. Great experience of living in a medieval bungalow, but for me, far too remote. A no no for anyone without car or with limited mobility. Dangerous 2km single lane steep gravel road entry. Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Steep grounds. Long walk... More

I owned a place at Borgo di Vagli for a few years as I was seduced by the location, beauty and ambiance of the place and the first class - attention to detail - of the design and service. Its a bit of a hidden gem and a trek up the hill road too but it is well worth it.... More

If you looking for a quite restful holiday, away from all the huff and puff of everyday life....then this is the ideal location. Set deep in the Tuscan countryside, Borgo Di Vagli is a perfect place. Each hamlet has been beautifully restored to its original look but with the addition of all the necessary modern cons. There is a lovely... More

This is a place of great character and charm and affords the opportunity of spending time in rural Tuscany in historic cottage setting renovated to modern standards, with a lovely pool and the chance to see local wildlife (foxes, wild boar, etc.). Reception could not be friendlier or more helpful. This will suit people who genuinely love a rural setting... More

The road to it!!! What can I say? The first time is tough. You don't know what to expect so you don't know how fast/slow to go. We were in an under powered rental car - 3 teenagers, 2 adults and assorted luggage as well as shopping from the supermarket for 9 as we were meeting up with family. Needless... More

Who could refuse to stay in an Etruscan village renovated? Realizing that this is not for everyone,it was perfect for us. We had been traveling for 2 months and we wanted peace in a lovely location. Yes you do have a drive up and down the hillside but so worth it! The restaurant is priceless for the food and experience... More

This is definitely a special place, as others have written about. When there, one is indeed totally immersed in green forest and huge skies. Consider that, to reach a minor township, you have to go >15Km of ever-meandering two-lane road + 2Km of unpaved, steep, drive, full of switch-backs. The verbal help we got on checking in about where to... More

We discovered Borgo di Vagli in about 2007 when we tried to trade with another RCI property. It didn't work out, but we went on an inspection trip anyway. We fell in love with the property and bought a one week time share that trip. Now we have been there 6-7 times and enjoyed it every single time. We love... More

Borgo di Vagli is the perfect place to stay to truly experience Tuscany. My husband and I stayed there at the end of September and had a fantastic experience. If you are looking to be in the centre of a town with all of the comforts of a modern hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are looking... More
