Stayed two nights here, my husband and I wanted a short local getaway for our anniversary. The drive up to Grand Riviere should really be done during daylight. The roads are not perfect but manageable. The hotel itself stays dark at night because of the turtles that nest right infront on the beach. Só again plan to arrive in daylight.... More

On our recent 2 week trip, there were TWO Places that we wish we could have rescheduled to stay at longer. This place...and Pax Guest House (separate review). This place is quite challenging to drive to, but well worth the trip. Rooms are very nice, located directly on the beach. Restaurant is very nice and food was good. We were... More

I would have given a lesser rating on the day of my check-in, but the second day proved much better. We called the hotel at 7pm to book a room and were assured that it was available and they were open 'til late.' Disappointingly there was no one but the night watchman when we got there shortly before 11pm. He... More

As most people say this spot is one of a kind. I lived in Trinidad for a few years (In Port of Spain) and without this retreat I would have pulled my hair out. I would recommend of course going in the season when the Leatherback Turtles are nesting but honestly it is great any time of year. Piero is... More

We really enjoyed our stay here, despite being out of the main tourist season, our upstairs room was huge, spotlessly clean, quality bed, with large sitting out space with hypnotic views of sea and sky. We were the only guests and Piero and his staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great time despite not great... More

This is not a plush hotel but the location and food make it worth going to. The rooms are large, with verandas that open onto the beach and admit the ocean breeze. You literally step off your veranda onto the beach which is wide and fringed with trees. The key to this hotel is the owner/ manager/ chef Piero. He... More

This is our fifth visit to Paradise and we are never disappointed. Piero, the owner is very gracious and hospitable and a great Chef too, really when you go to Mt Plaisir you never want to leave. Christopher is so helpful and very knowledgeable and is a great asset to this wonderful hotel as he goes beyond the call of... More

I planned to stay for 3 days and ended up staying a week. Grande Riviere is stunning and you will not able to help yourself but become completely relaxed. I was there in August and spent most of my time walking up and down the beach during the day collecting up tiny hatchlings that had chosen the wrong time of... More

Make sure you get a room on the first floor overlooking the beach and you'll have a fabulous time. Ok, you are pretty captive by the restaurant (which is a bit overpriced) and sleeping through the crashing surf may be challenging for some. Stay a couple of nights in August and go swimming and rescuing baby leatherback turtles in the... More

This place feels a bit like an oasis on a very remote location. Getting there from the airport is a very long ride on a bumpy road, but accompanied with some nice reggae tunes it makes it fun. The accommodation is pretty good. Rooms are clean, have airco and mosquito nets. We stayed on the top floor, they have excellent... More
