This place has everything going for it – it’s right on the beach, in a small village, tranquil setting and nesting turtles on the beach and under your balcony it could easily get five stars but was sadly let down by the lots of niggles and lack of customer care. My wife and I stayed here for four nights transferring... More

A very pleasant stay right on the beach, during turtle season. The hotel can get you tickets to join researchers who are tagging the nesting turtles, and you can go out at night and have an amazing time getting really close to the huge animals occupied with laying and covering up their eggs. The rooms at the hotel are spacious... More

This picturesque hotel right on the beach was a perfect base for birding the local area. The food was unexpectedly wonderful and we could watch the nesting turtles from our upstairs room's balcony. We also didn't expect to have air conditioning, but it was provided and worked wonderfully. Reasonably fast wifi as well. All the comforts of home in tropical... More

We had an amazing experience watching turtles laying and hatchlings emerging. It is a bit of a hike to get to this place from Port of Spain but well worth the trip in turtle season. Off season it may be a worth a trip if you just want to get away from it all.

If you want to visit Grand Riviere to see the leather back turtles, which is the main draw of the tiny village, there just aren't a lot of options in lodgings, especially on the high end. Located on the northern coast three hours from Port of Spain, the beach has become one of the best places to observe the turtles.... More

the hotel is a far way from any major city centers and that's the appeal of it. the hotel is located on the beach and has a restaurant on the compound. Its a quaint hotel. Not many amenities but you dont venture to grande riviere for amenities. The room is basic, functional and has a rustic charm. The beach is... More

This is Paradise but that doesn't mean luxury. I don't think you could put a price on the position. Where else could you watch the Turtles nesting from your veranda ! Not to forget the 'soon to be famous' cheese and wonderful breads. All but 1 of the staff were such hosts, making us feel very welcome. Let's not forget... More

To begin with, upon entering, the receptionist was very helpful and courteous, so was the other employees at this hotel. My disappointment was actually the hotel itself. There is no private bathroom, there were four of us in the room, the room bathroom was half a door basically with no lock attached. Anyone could have opened it. Also the beds... More

Stayed two nights here, my husband and I wanted a short local getaway for our anniversary. The drive up to Grand Riviere should really be done during daylight. The roads are not perfect but manageable. The hotel itself stays dark at night because of the turtles that nest right infront on the beach. Só again plan to arrive in daylight.... More

On our recent 2 week trip, there were TWO Places that we wish we could have rescheduled to stay at longer. This place...and Pax Guest House (separate review). This place is quite challenging to drive to, but well worth the trip. Rooms are very nice, located directly on the beach. Restaurant is very nice and food was good. We were... More
