The brochure completely mis-represents the condition and standards of the hotel. There has been little maintainance done. The list of problems are too long. Outside patio - tiles broken or missing. Rust from the structure all too visible. Numerous broken shutters. Doors hanging off. Dirt everywhere. Food not very good. MOVED HOTEL by second day.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We were well looked after. Although the hotel is a little "Shabby Chic" it is a small privately run business with a lovely private beach and beach bar. The staff and owner look after you well and the food is excellent. Would definitely go again

The Blue Haven is the most charming, romantic, peaceful, beautiful place. The staff are so friendly, the location of the hotel is superb with amazing views from wherever you are in the hotel, the beach is so Beautiful, Picture postcard perfect, and it is not crowded at all. David will collect coconuts for you, or crabs, to the delight of... More

first impressions not very good - its very tired and shabby everywhere . still trading on its glamour days in the 60s and 70s! That said we had a lovely time there once you get used to it - the staff are very friendly and helpful, it is clean , food good, beach nice and when we were there very... More

For me it's the laid back and friendly staff coupled with the weathered colonial style hotel buildings, superb beach and stunning views that earn the hotel full marks. This is not to say it is without faults. The buildings certainly are flaky round the edges, in some places even broken, but it oozes charm. Service may be slow sometimes, but... More

famous in the 1940s and 1950s for Hollywood location crews and actors (the bar features photographs of Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum in Fire Down Below), now a shadow of its former glory. Room with nice views but smells of mould, no hot water, no bath plug - definitely not 5 star, nor worth the exorbitant 200+ € per night.... More

Researching this hotel through Trip Advisor was one of the more interesting experiences and just about all reviews are valid. There are many good points and a fair number of bad. The Hotel is individual and has an excellent location and is peaceful. The food is good and the restaurant service excellent and friendly. There was a nice beach with... More

I absolutely adored the Blue Haven Hotel! A small, individual, authentic hotel with a wonderful atmosphere, next to the Atlantic Ocean, the perfect antidote to some of the big, over-regimented, tourist-machine hotels you can encounter elsewhere. We arrived in the dark, enjoyed a welcome rum punch and then retired to the bed in our delightful room---in the morning, we were... More

This small (55 air-conditioned rooms) old colonial-type hotel is set in palm-fringed grounds above a lovely, secluded beach. The Queen, Princess Margaret, Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum have all stayed here, according to the blurb, but things must have been a little different in those days. The rooms are large and reasonably well-presented but, like some of the rest of... More
