famous in the 1940s and 1950s for Hollywood location crews and actors (the bar features photographs of Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum in Fire Down Below), now a shadow of its former glory. Room with nice views but smells of mould, no hot water, no bath plug - definitely not 5 star, nor worth the exorbitant 200+ € per night.... More

Researching this hotel through Trip Advisor was one of the more interesting experiences and just about all reviews are valid. There are many good points and a fair number of bad. The Hotel is individual and has an excellent location and is peaceful. The food is good and the restaurant service excellent and friendly. There was a nice beach with... More

I absolutely adored the Blue Haven Hotel! A small, individual, authentic hotel with a wonderful atmosphere, next to the Atlantic Ocean, the perfect antidote to some of the big, over-regimented, tourist-machine hotels you can encounter elsewhere. We arrived in the dark, enjoyed a welcome rum punch and then retired to the bed in our delightful room---in the morning, we were... More

we had very mixed feelings about the blue haven on the one hand we were offered no help with our bags even though the room was up a flight of stairs the food in the restaurant in the evening was ordinary the room floor was dusty and had ants they did send someone to clean it and spray the ants!... This small (55 air-conditioned rooms) old colonial-type hotel is set in palm-fringed grounds above a lovely, secluded beach. The Queen, Princess Margaret, Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum have all stayed here, according to the blurb, but things must have been a little different in those days. The rooms are large and reasonably well-presented but, like some of the rest of... More

I have just returned, with my partner, from my ninth holiday at the beautiful Blue Haven Hotel on the magical island of Tobago. For me, the experience just gets better and better. This wonderful Hotel is like a second home to me - except, of course, it is far more luxurious, comfortable and atmospheric than my home at Hindhead in... More

It is with regre that I write this post, although I know my husband has wrote directly to the hotel. This would have been our 7th visit to the Blue Haven and our last one sadly. We came here 4 years ago so we expected a repeat of the great holidays we had in the past. We were in room... More

This hotel is rather tired and needs investment - no hotvwater for 4 days - patio door didn't shut or lock. It is a pretty location with a small bay which had a beach bar by the sea and the food there was very good. Hotel staff very friendly and pleasant

A wonderfully indulgent experience of decadence, romance and historical splendour. The spectacular setting and relaxing sound of lapping waves is hard to beat. The hotel's faded magnificence held us in a spell of time past. An unforgettable experience. Thanks for the Mauby....!

We have stayed at the Blue Haven many times over a number of years with our family. The Blue Haven is the last bastion of 'old' Tobago. Sitting in a beautiful bay, this is the ideal setting to experience Tobago. We will be returning....
