I only chanced on this place by accident. How lucky was I?! Forget the Hiltons, the Hyatts, even the Four Seasons (in Firenze), this little gem is special. It may just be a matter of taste but I adored it's quirky, eclectic feel. I have to admit that there were little bits here and there that could do with a... More

Spent 5 nights at Half Moon Blue recently in one of the junior penthouses. On arrival, the room looked delightful, with fresh petals strewn throughout. Accommodation was very comfortable and the view out across the Atlantic stunning. The option to use both the facilities at Half Moon Blue and the Bacolet Beach Club was a bonus and the complimentary breakfast... More

We went to the Half Moon Blue as a stopover from UK to Trinidad. That one night convinced us to stay another 4 nights at the end of our holiday. Both the rooms that we stayed in were enormous and really well appointed with huge beds, fridge, coffee tea makings, great fully equipped bathroom, flat screen TV if you could draw... More

We have been staying in the penthouse for 3 nights and found it very charming. The room is huge and has that typical caribean ambience. The view is fantastic. The pools ok, beach amazing incl the beach bar. The negative is that it seems the hotel has seen it's best days a while ago. Some refurbishment and cleaning up is... More

We stayed 6 nights at Half moon blue and found the accommodation to be just what we wanted. The rooms are spacious and we had a large balcony with sea views. The staff were always helpful whenever we asked for anything. All in all a lovely experience. Thank you

We've just returned from a wonderful fortnight in the Half Moon Blue. There are so many reasons we loved it, I'm not sure where to start. Helpful, friendly, relaxed staff. Simple but absolutely fine rooms. Delicious food. 2 brilliant pools. Fantastic hotel masseuse. One of the best beaches ever. A lovely beach bar. Great views. Good looking buildings. One needs... Since I got a great deal on-line, I should be kinder, but what can you say about a place that's missing smoke detectors, has no backup power generator OR torches in the rooms, has spotty reliability of both cable TV and WIFI, is undergoing construction, and above all, fails to THANK the guests for staying there? My longest interaction with... More

The Half Moon Blue Hotel is a great option with its quiet ambience and spacious rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. I received an upgrade to my room without asking! My only disappointment was the breakfast options which I think should be upgraded to more local cuisine. The building itself could do with some upgrades as the... More

Half Moon Blue in its own way is very unique, it has Eight Suites and every one is different. What was so great about this hotel apart from having two pools, it had a private beach which was amazing. If I do decide to visit Tobago again that's the place I am going just for the beach. However, I was... More

Half Moon Blue is a beautiful small hotel, well maintained and well managed. Its in Bacolet in Tobago and its a very quiet area even in the day, a totally relaxing atmosphere. The room was huge and very clean with a a surprising huge bathroom as well. Service was great, I had no problem, even with the room service. Besides... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Here's a little secret only a few people know about: if you're planning a trip to Tobago, one of the most charming hotels is Half Moon Blue Hotel at the Donkey Cart House. Nestled in gardens of palms, bamboo and bougainvillea, the hotel's suites lay beneath the hill of historical Fort George. Eight extra spacious suites and one spectacular Penthouse loft overlook the horizon, the half moon shaped Bacolet Bay and the overflow swimming pool where midnight swims are a must! The decor sets your mood for serene and lazy days and romantic exotic nights. These colonial styled suites with jalousied windows and doors open onto verandas with rattan chaise-lounges, creating the perfect spot for what ever your heart desires like that best seller you have been dying to read. On a clear day you can see the sister isle of Trinidad. These breathtaking panoramic views with their romantic surf washed coves can be seen from our balconies with the beach only a 2 minute trot away. ... more   less
