The location is super just below the monastery and backing into the jungle - however it also means you are very far from going out for a meal other than in the guest house The rooms were ok - air con - sometime s worked, was worked I would go through the wooden floor boards by the sink as they... Old building with old rooms. The less expensive one's have a shared bathroom. Rooms are very high and are open to the corridor. Breakfast is included, for diner one need to make reservation long before. Expensive and not friendly.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Feb 2014. After arriving quite late after 2 flights we were met by Gerard who was so friendly and accommodating and he very kindly organised a meal for us at about 10pm which we hadn't prebooked. We chatted to Gerard and another guest after our meal about the birding and nature of T&T... More

. It's an historic building and full of character and charm. Gerard the owner, is an absolute "hoot" witty, charming but more importantly spends time with all of his guests ensuring ,that for whatever reason they are visiting, that guests are furnished with all information required to ensure a fulfilled experience. That was certainly our experience over the four nights.... More

Perched on a mountainside overlooking Tunapuna and the campus of UWI St Augustine, this historic guest house exudes old West Indian charm. I had a number of very nice breakfasts and dinners there, too. The innkeeper, Gerard, goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome, and his knowledge of the monastery and Trinidad is second to none.

A historic guest house, up above busy Tunapuna. It is blessedly quiet, surrounded by birds and cooled by the breezes. Access can be a challenge if you don't have a car, but taxis will gladly deliver you. Rooms are simple, monastic, clean. The management is incredibly kind and accommodating. Our five year old was able to help "walk" the owners'... More

This guest house is several hundred feet up on the side of a hill with panoramic views. From the various balconies one can see many species of birds in the gardens and the valley below. The house is nearly 100 years old, is a listed building and has a lot of character and with it comes some issues if you... More

We stayed at Pax Guesthouse for four nights as part of a birdwatching holiday. On the plus side the building has historic charm and the situation, half way up a forested hill, is very pleasant. It also has 3 verandahs where you can view birds. It is clean and the food is acceptable. However the sleeping accommodation is very poor.... More

A lovely place, simple, rustic with soul and charm. Comfortable and quiet you will be received with hospitality and will hear about the history of the place. And if you're lucky you'll enjoy a rhum on the terrace and talk about life with the owner.

A year back I was on a university trip which took us to Trinidad. We traveled around the beautiful tropical island, stayed in several different locations and the Pax Guest House was by far the best place we stayed throughout the island. This guest house is located ~30 minutes outside of Port of Spain, Trinidad's capital. It is part of... More
