We had a lovely relaxing weekend. It was very nice. Loved the snorkeling. It's very close to the turtle reserve. The 4 am tour is better than the 9 pm tour in my opinion because there are less people and you can stay on the beach for sunrise. It's very beautiful.

If you like the beach shacks of Goa, Borrocay, Koh Samui or if you are old enough to remember Sigi in Kabul, freak street in Katmandu and Toba lake : this is your place to be in Oman. Clean and well kept beach huts on the Indian Ocean. Friendly atmosphere, reasonable food and a cool beer available to enjoy the... More

We stayed two nights during the eid holidays. It was a very good relaxing place to be with your friends and family. We missed the chilled beer but the beach cooled us very well. They've a tea coffee station open for 24/7 which is great for the early birds like us. The Food was ok but when its delivered by... More

It is very quite place, you can hear the sound of waves that make you relaxed. You must use a navigator to reach to the hotel since the location is not an easy place and there are only two hotel signs which are not sufficient. The service is perfect, more than my expectations. Food and drink are also more than... More

We visited Turtle Beach resort during the Christmas break of 2013. We knew that we were out of the turtle watching season, but thought since we were in the area we'd take a chance and stay a night to check out the sea turtles. I booked two little huts without aircon or private bathrooms. The accommodation is very basic. Two... More

It is a good location for those who want to go see the sea turtles at night. Rooms are small, everything looks quite used, all facilities cheap and simple. The breakfast is very basic and the restaurant serves below the average food and you have no other choices in that area . Stayed January 2014, traveled with family Stayed January... More

It was a relxing stay. Nice little beach. Staff were excellent-very friendly and helpful. The only let down was the food. No fresh food available, seafood fozen, no fresh meat. I suggest a daily menu to choose from.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Turtle Beach Resort is located 40 kms from Sur on the southern coastline area of the Arabian Peninsula of the Sultanate of Oman at the famous Ras Al Hadd area (world famous breeding ground for the Green turtles). A virgin beach area was identified in a crystal-clear lagoon and the resort was built in typical Omani tradition. Turtle Beach Resort is a traditional Omani style resort that has been offering its services for more than ten years now. We do everything to guarantee that your stay will be a pleasant one. The hotel has a private Beach for an unforgettable beach experience for all the family to enjoy. An ideal way to enjoy nature to its fullest would be to check into the resort in the day, bask in the sun, enjoy some water sports and after dinner make a visit to Ras-Al-Jinz Habitat to see the turtles come on to the beach searching for nesting ground and turtles laying eggs. ... more   less
