Like most people, I imagine, you would only stay here for the turtles. Unfortunately for us, we didn't even get to see any of these delightful and beautiful creatures, so to say it was disappointing is an understatement. One doesn't mind iffy accommodation if the wildlife experience pays off. I'm not aware of there being anywhere else to stay in... More

This hotel is directly located on the beach. Large and comfortable rooms, beautiful sight on the beach, very nice and warm sea. Good restaurant with a good choice of food and drinks (also wine, beer and spirits). Its location is very good both to visit Sur and green turtles. Green turtle reserve is a great experience! In several months of... More

we stayed (2 adults + 2 kids + a couple) here for one night in November 2010 as most visitors do to see the turtles in the early morning (4am).. the rooms were large and basic, the cleaning okay but everything is old and run down.. . the food in the restaurant is only adequate (they sell beer but had... This hotel feels a bit tired and whilst it's perfectly acceptable for one night whilst watching turtles, you're probably not going to want to stay there for much longer! We received a warm welcome with coffee and dates. The rooms were large and adequately equipped, although otherwise reminiscent of a prison cell with their visible concrete blocks. The food was... Arriving too late to find a good camping spot, this lone hotel had plenty of availability - despite the more attractive looking Turtle Beach Resort being full. The hotel is nothing more than a functional place to stay. It is a sad concrete block on a dirty beach with no pretensions whatsoever. Everything is mediocre with especially poor marks for... More

This hotel is quite close to the turtle watching site, that makes me to select this hotel. but experience was good. rooms were clean, friendly staff, close to the beach & good food. Nice Indian food is available at the restaurant. Even breakfast was nice. Overall a nice experience.

Stayed here having turned up on spec and asked for a room. Nice room, friendly restaurant staff, food was OK. Was about 15 mins drive from the visitor centre for seeing the turtles at ras-al-jinz (given had to be there before dawn - definitely easier than staying in Sur!) Reasonable price room for Oman, would recommend staying there

We arrived at the hotel and the alarm bells should have been ringing, we were the only guests. The guy on the reception was okay and we went to our room, very pink with a view to the beach, which was at least 600 metres away. No shade whatsoever, just barren sand and concrete bunkers. Had lunch in the restuarant... More

On our Oman trip, we wanted to see the turtles laying their eggs. So, as this happens at night, there is only one solution : stay a night in the Ras Al Hadd Beach Hotel. It is a basic hotel but correct : spacious, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good bathroom and - lo and behold - we could... More
