If you're looking for a friendly family experience and memories with Oni and all her local staff of local villagers, the most beautiful beach for swimming and snorkeling on the island, lunches on the beach under their trees, French trained chef preparing beautiful meals and Fijian feasts, clean burrs just feet off the beach all with views, Kava evening experiences... I was on Nacula Island in the December of 2003 . I stayed 2 weeks at Nabua Lodge . I was first guided to Oarsman's bay and then almost daily guided groups of people on the long walk along the beach . At the time , i thought Oarsman's Bay cabins too modern and western style for my taste ,... More

I have stayed at Oarman's Bay Lodge 10 times. What drew me to OBL was that it was locally owned and operated. What keeps me going back is the amazing beach and marine park. One of the things that makes it an exceptional beach is the sandy bay which means you can swim both at high tide and low tide... More

The best way I can summarize Oarsman is you are ALWAYS welcomed, greeted with a smile & they really focus on inclusion. Every guest is welcomed as you step off the tinny onto Oarsman's beach. The ferry was incredibly late in dropping us off & guests were starving, but the staff quickly made TONS of snacks for the guests. The... More

To say some things first: yes, the resort is very aged and the bures probably do not meet the standard of the price. But it is clean (roomservice every day) both shower and beachtowels are provided and the infrastructure is currently being renovated. We have spent one month in Fiji, from which the 4 days at Oarsman's were the very... More

We stayed 2 nights in a beachside Bure ( paying 4 star rating prices)and were confronted with no flushing toilet and a dribble of a shower. We asked to be moved or fixed with no response.Meals were below standard and no choice, eat what you are given at designated time ( like a bad boarding school) Even the backpackers in Dorms... My boyfriend and I came to oarsmans bay because of the rent your own island. The Island is called honeymoon island. Oarsman Bay is ran by a fijian family. They own that island. We rented it for two nights. We rented a tent to sleep in. The family brings you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They bring you really anything you... More

My partner and I spent 4 nights at Oarsman's Bay from April 15th to 19th 2015. We loved the time we spent at Oarsman's and wished we could have stayed longer. This is not a five star resort, but this is what makes the experience so unique and so special. Of special mention is the food at at Oarsman's -... More

Stayed here to stay 2 nights and have to say that it was very pleasant this is a very nice to stay. From the minute you step on the island you are welcomed and feel like part of the family! This is a great place to stay if you want a peaceful place that is very authentic. Only bad thing... More
