We came along that lovely litte village Liscannor at our way on the Atlantic Coast Way. With the help of some friendly irish folks we found that jewel of B&B. The Hosts Maurice und Shirely are the most friendly, charming, helpful and lovely people you can imagine. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast is really recommendable. You cannot... More

I left one night of our week unplanned just for fun and we ended up traveling to Lahinch after a couple days in Doolin so that my husband could rent a board and surf. We wandered the roads north of Lahinch past the golf course and came upon Carrig House. After meeting Maurice we couldn't go anywhere else. He's a... More

We were so lucky to find this gem. Maurice and Shirley are fabulous hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Room was fabulous, had everything we needed, tea/coffee/water, hair dryer, hot water bottle, great bathroom, toiletries, there was nothing we needed to ask for. They think of everything. Breakfast was an event in itself, just amazing. I mirror all the positives... More

My girlfriend and I were driving the Wild Atlantic Way, after a long day of driving we were so happy to find Carrig House. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Maurice was full of local knowledge and more than happy to answer any questions you have. Our breakfast was beautiful,... More

My wife and I stayed with Maurice and Shirley during a summer trip to the Isles. They made us feel like long lost family. We truly enjoyed everything, The breakfast is fabulous. The accommodations perfect. The location is close to the Cliffs, there are great little restaurants and pubs just down the street. Two days of hiking and sight-seeing and... More

A lovely house with even more lovely owners, Maurice and Shirley are superb and pleasant hosts, between their hospitality and a breakfast fit for a king there's nothing to fault Carrig House. Normally I like verity and changing where I stay but next time I visit Clare I will be staying there.

Our rooms were lovely and the location was great at Carrig House, but the owners, Maurice and his wonderful wife, were what truly set this place apart. I can't overemphasize how welcome and cared for they made us feel or how helpful they were with our plans. The rooms were clean, in good condition, and charmingly decorated, and breakfast the... Maurice and Shirley proved to be the perfect hosts. The welcome was warm, the accommodation very good and the breakfast excellent. Maurice offers a wealth of information on all the local places of interest with a quaintly amusing delivery. Shirley ensures that all the essentail ingredients of a pleasant stay are in place, especially the breakfast. We would happily recommend... More

We stayed with Maurice and his lovely wife 2 years ago. We got there late in the afternoon without reservation and were warmly received. The rooms are cosy and clean, there's warm water in the bathroom, the location is close enough to the nearest pub (10 min walking distance) and the breakfast is typically Irish and prepared with much love... We stayed here for one night before a walking tour of County Clare. While the owners were not home due to a family emergency, the people they had take care of the place were excellent hosts. The room was clean and ready to go, family members of the owners initiated giving us information about breakfast (which wasn't always the case... More
