We stayed with Maurice and his lovely wife 2 years ago. We got there late in the afternoon without reservation and were warmly received. The rooms are cosy and clean, there's warm water in the bathroom, the location is close enough to the nearest pub (10 min walking distance) and the breakfast is typically Irish and prepared with much love... We stayed here for one night before a walking tour of County Clare. While the owners were not home due to a family emergency, the people they had take care of the place were excellent hosts. The room was clean and ready to go, family members of the owners initiated giving us information about breakfast (which wasn't always the case... More

Our stay started with a warm welcome by the houseowner who delighted us with his good humor throughout the stay and gave us a lot of useful tips. The room was clean and cosy with all the facilities needed. The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious. There was a great range of homemade fresh and nicely decorated food, more than... More

If ever you find yourself in this part of County Clare do yourself a favour and stay here for wonderful Irish hospitality. Maurice the owner is a mine of information and Shirley a wonderful cook who can not do enough for you. Great location for exploring this area of Clare, (cliffs of mohar, the burren, Lahinch and the coastal road drive... More

From the time we were welcomed at the door of this family B and B it felt just like home. The room was clean and the be comfy. All the advice we were given regarding times to visit local attractions was spot on. Shirley advised we visit the Cliffs now! 5.30pm armed with a bottle of vino and local fish... More

We've planned to stay at Carrig House for one day, but couldn't resist the temptation and decided to stay for one extra night. First thing I will never forget is The Breakfast. Well, I've had quite a few hotel and B&B breakfasts in the past (some 1000+, so it means something), and one from Shirley and Maurice was the best... More

I was recently on a walking holiday in the Burren Co Clare and stayed in the Carrig House for one night. The welcome from Maurice and Shirley was so genuine and I immediately felt at home. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable and I was amazed to see a real live hare pass by my window in the morning.... More

Hi, Stayed with Maurice and his wife last weekend and had an enjoyable stay. Nice big rooms with decent shower. Had good craic with Maurice as he talks non stop but in a good way. If you want a traditional Irish b and b with no fancy extras then this is your place. Oh and the breakfast was delicious.

This B & B is first class, we have never had such amazing food before, the rooms were spotlessly clean, light, airy and very well presented with great views. This couple have worked really hard to the attention to detail. Thanks again!! And pets welcome too!!
