We recently stayed a night in The Rising Sun. The rooms are basic but big and very clean. The bathroom was faultless. We did have a problem with the water in our bathroom after check in but we were moved to another room straight away. Top marks to Louise for been so helpful to us in this instance. The location... If you are in the Waterford/Kilkenny area and looking for a place to lay your head and also enjoy a good pint and a meal The Rising Sun ticks most of the boxes. It is just off the M9 at Junction 11. The rooms were clean and well layer out but unfortunately Wi-Fi was not available in the bedrooms. The... More

Twice lately I had occasion to stop into The Rising Sun in Mullinavat on my way home from family funerals in Waterford. First time round, I wasn't excited at the prospect of noshing up in in a pub, however we found locals ranging from bachelor farmers, the parish priest, journeyman salesmen and travelers all turning in here for a relaxing... Mullinavat happened to be where my husband said "I've had enough driving for the day..." We were trying to avoid cities, so this little town without all the tourists suited us fine. The hotel was very quiet, with few people staying at that time. I could imagine it may be noisy on weekends, especially in the rooms that overlook the... More

The Rising Sun, Mullinavat in Kilkenny is a place to experience. Its a very small guesthouse with 5 or 6 rooms in a small village. A very hospitable reception and a good bar at downstairs fully buily on rocks, it gives an amazing feeling. The rooms are spic and span in cleanliness, with each and every cornet taken care off.... I stayed at the Rising Sun for a night only, on the route from Dublin to Kilkenny. The place is really nice and comfortable, and the rooms are large, bright and absolutely clean. The price is also absolutely good. Mullinavat is a very little village cut by the road going to Kilkenny, without any shop or attractions. Maybe it's even... More

Checked in and paid for 2 rooms, these were clean and tidy. Went down for food, Grill for the men Bacon and cabbage for the ladies. I should perhaps of stated rare for the cooking of mine but the bacon and cabbage was apparently good. The price wasn't bad either. The Bar area is small and luckily it was a... More

Stayed in this B&B for 1 night the rooms were not to bad we had a meal in the resturant and I must say the meal was excellent , unfortunately the stay did not match the good food. We knew it was above a pub but we were also knew the rooms were not over the pub what we did... More

We were visiting family nearby and could not have asked for a better place to stay: great food and nice rooms. Great value for money.
