We enjoyed our stay at Kulala Desert Lodge. The room was adequate for our needs, hot but it did cool down at night. The pool is small but refreshing. Meals were okay. The staff is excellent and they made our stay quite enjoyable. Our guide was just right for us. He was patient and smart. Don't pass on the walking... More

The welcome we received on our arrival at the Lodge set the tone for the next three days. Artisari and Petronella were so welcoming. They got us settled comfortably in time to meet Michael, our amazing guide, and our first sundowner out in the bush watching the sun set and a double rainbow over the mountains. Over the next two... We had one night here which was too short really. The lodge was beautifully designed and well thought through. Our room was really special, right out on the end of the row. Quite a walk at dark at night, we almost got knocked over by a beast darting in front of us! The decking area of the lodge is super... More

Dear katesmugsy, What a pity you were unable to stay with us for longer. We are glad though that you were able to squeeze in the rooftop stay. Due to unpredictable weather patterns it is not viable for us to set up a permanent mattress on the roof but rather a roll out mattress. In this cast should it start... More

We very much enjoyed our two-night stay here and were impressed with the standard of accommodation and facilities which were much better than we'd dared hope for a remote wilderness lodge. As with all the Wilderness Safaris places we visited, we were given a warm, personal welcome on arrival complete with cold drink and damp towels to freshen up with.... More

Dear Gordon2112, Thank you for writing to us regarding your stay a Kulala Desert Lodge. We are delighted to hear you had an enjoyable stay and were able to participate in not only the inclusive activities but also the various additional costing ones. The Hot Balloon excursion is a real treat and beautifully managed by our partner Namib Sky. Thank... More

What a wonderful lodge this is. It was my first experience of a tented camp and it did not disappoint. The 'Kulalas' were exceptionally well appointed with all and more you would want in a top class hotel room. The views were wonderful and the ambience of the place is out of this world. Food was very good and plentiful.... More

Dear chunky65, Thank you for your wonderful review, we cannot wait to share your kind words with all our staff in camp. A huge part of the design inspiration came from the Deadvlei, a beautiful bleached-bone-baked inspirational place in the middle of Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft Park. The colour of the Earth was used throughout the camp, as well... More

A splendid location, gentle staff, great food. The visit to the red dunes was marvellous, an unique experience! There is no wi-fi in the hotel, only a desktop in the lobby. There are no air conditioning in the rooms - terrible at this time of the year. There are activities for only a full day, so the better is to... More

Dear fthedy, Thank you for your fabulous review, we are delighted to hear you had such an enjoyable time with us. This lodge is nicely appointed and the staff is friendly and efficient. The food is great. The cabins are clean, safe and well maintained. Same for the little swimming / wading pool. They give you free water bottles with free fillups. OK - now what is the caveat? If you have your own vehicle and the goal is to optimize... More

Thank you DennisUSA for your fabulous review, we are sorry to hear the outing to the Dunes did not live up to your expectations and you were not given full information on this activity. Unfortunately The Dunes - Big Daddy and Dead Vlei etc. - fall within a National Park and therefore close their gates at sunset and only reopen... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on our very first trip to Namibia, and it was a wonrderful start - the lodge is like the rest of Namibia - full of friendly, fun-loving friendly people who did their best to ensure that we saw and enjoyed the best of in this case the marvellous desert of Namib - specifically Soussusvfei. It... More

Thank you Eva L for you wonderful review, we are delighted to see you had such a great stay with us. The climate is typically semi-desert with hot days and cool nights. The cold Benguela Current keeps the coast cool and free of rain most of the year, Namibia averages 300 days of sunshine a year. Midsummer temperatures may rise... More

This was the first of four Wilderness Camps in which we stayed during our time in Namibia and a great introduction. The camp is situated about 14km off the main road, giving it the advantage of being closer to the dunes than other camps and having its own private gate, a real bonus. Our arrival was greeted with cold towels... More

Thank you heb999, We are delighted to hear you had such an enjoyable stay with and and just sorry to hear it ended on a somewhat sour note. Just got back and am totally in love! The lodge is run so well, environmentally friendly, comfy and cosy, perfect position, it could not get better. Ideal to explore the Dunes and Sesriem and ideal to sit on the deck and watch the gemsbok wander by. Very good service, Namibians are so friendly. Food was good given how remote this... More
