Just got back and am totally in love! The lodge is run so well, environmentally friendly, comfy and cosy, perfect position, it could not get better. Ideal to explore the Dunes and Sesriem and ideal to sit on the deck and watch the gemsbok wander by. Very good service, Namibians are so friendly. Food was good given how remote this... More

I stayed here for 4 nights last November. It's an ideal location. Situated on its own in the desert. It has a quick access to the road to the dunes as it is within the national park. You have to make use of the lodges vehicle though. You cannot take your own car the short route. I took the dunes... More

Stayed at this lodge in March 2014. It is hot and windy but you will welcome the afternoon winds while sitting out on their lovely deck enjoying a cocktail. They also have a very nice pool and lounging area The views are spectacular. I would watch the ostrich meander in the distance while flipping through one of the many books... More

Thank you DianeKim0429, what a delight to be exploring this amazing area alone, must have been a thrilling experience. Namibia does not simply offer its visitors beautiful scenery but also great wonder; From the air, the Namibian desert looks like it has a bad case of chicken pox. Spread across 1,100 miles of a narrow strip sit a smattering of... More

Family-friendly, fairly commercial and well equipped, this place is famous for being the closest to Sossusvlei with a private gate to the park. the tents are excellent, equipped with fans and all creature comfort one can expect in this very dry place. Our tent are arranged in a row with the main area in the middle. we were the last... More

On our second trip to Namibia with our girls (ages 5 and 7) we stayed here for two nights and were thrilled with the quality of the accommodation, the flexibility of the staff for kids' meals and the friendliness with which we were welcomed. I have skimmed some of the more negative reviews of the property and, with all candor,... More

While I enjoyed my two night stay at the lodge it is pretty desolate and windswept. This is emphasised if you have - as we did -the furthest tent from the main building. Looking out from the lodge it is hard to see any other sign of human habitation for miles around. The wind blows in off the big red... More

We enjoyed our two night stay at Kulala Desert Lodge. Atasari, the manager, and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Only issue we had was that the lodge was quite full when we arrived and our thatched and canvas kulala was the furthest from the lodge. The... More

Dear Spriglet, Thank you for your wonderful review, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We spent 3 fabulous nights - our days filled with fantastic nature walks, nature drives, sundowners and delicious food. The staff was attentive and enthusiastic, with special kudos going to Deputy GM Carlin and guide Valentinus. The highlight was our Bush Breakfast, prepared for us while several oryx watched from a nearby ridge. Doesn't get much better than that....
