We visited the Moon Mountain Lodge in Decemeber 2015. The location of the hotel was good, the view of the hotel was also good. One very important highlight was that the owners of the lodge were extremely friendly and helpful. Due to the problem of booking.com, the lodge could not get the booking information of us, but the owners helped... More

Prime position, where the lodge must have the best views in Solitaire! Mesmerizing sunsets and rises. The lodges/units are rustic, spacious and comfortable although in need of a little attention due to wear and tear. The private splash pools in each unit are a much needed reprieve from the heat. The staff make up for any imperfections by being friendly... More

My daughter and I were at this lodge during December 2015, 27th and 28th. Our host, Mia, advised us to be ready to depart at 8:00 in the morning since they only have two staff members to prepare rooms for new guests. This is NOT an isolated issue for we could hear her talking and arguing with other clients regarding... More

we spent a night a the lodge and had an njoyable stay. Mia was very friendly and helpful and the staff very friendly as well. the food was good and the accomodation very comfortable. the private splash pool was a very welcome relief from the heat. you do need a 4x4 to get up to the lodge as the road... We rented two tents. Bedrooms are vast and clean. Beds are good. View is amazing. Tents are getting a bit old. Splash pools are great to cool down (one was clean, the other one not so sure). Food was good unless you take it to go. Personnel very friendly and helpful. Wifi in common areas, not in private tents

Moon Mountain is hard to characterize. Protea Hotels chose to take an upmarket tent-style lodge and plaster it on the side of a steep rocky hillside overlooking an empty quarter of the Namib Desert. The views are amazing, the vastness almost overwhelming, and the tent/rooms quite nice (they even have private dipping pools). From there the contradictions multiply. Equivalent (and... More

"You monkey climb the mountain". That's the spirit we felt treated. When you don't have a 4x4 , this place is not accesible. They have a parking at the foot of the mountain but there was no way to signal the reception you arrived. Even cheap solutions as installing a bell or a ( toy ) walkie talkie were not... More

Dear Francis T Thank you for your valuable feedback. We take note of the struggle you endured with regards to the transfer issue. We are looking into measures to improve the pickup procedure for guests without a 4x4 vehicle. The lodge will implement an intercom of some sort so guests may alert the lodge when they have arrived at the... More

We arrived in Mountain Moon Lodge on the last 2 days of our 12 days Namibia trip. I must say that the view is amazing and the lodge is beautiful. A big thanks to the chef who had made a wonderful effort to cater our vegetarian dinners. Sadly the beauty of this place is short lived. We went out the... More

Dear Kim C, Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor, We are pleased to hear you were impressed with the lodge, view and food. It is however a damper to hear about the theft of your money. We did investigate this incident with the manager at the lodge and wish to apologize if he was not attentive enough to... More

Spent one night there as guest of Toyota on our way to an extended 4x4 trip through the Namib. The tented lodge was pretty unique in terms of size and amenities such as a small kitchen for self-catering purposes. Bed was comfy and the shower up to standard. However, there was a wind storm raging across the plains which made... More

When one sets out on a special trip with the intention to ask the most fantastic lady in the world to marry you, then you generally have a few surprises planned. Part of the surprise I planned was to take my fiancé-to-be to Moon Mountain to pop the special question. Everything was organized and I was confident that nothing would... More
