Spent 3 nights at the Sea Star Resort in March. The garden-facing bungalow was quiet, reasonably clean, and rather dark which was just fine while we recovered from a long flight and jet lag. Reliable transport from and to the airport was included. Sea Star is on a nice beach, although there were some large jellyfish while we we there.... More

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay here. We had a sea view bungalow (not right on the beach), which had a lovely terrace for relaxing on. The breakfast was fine, dinner was really good (recommend the squid stuffed with pork). The mattresses were firm (but I prefer that to soft) and pillows comfy. They gave us a free transfer to... My husband and I spent 9 days at the Sea Star and enjoyed it very much. 5 nights at a beach bungalow, and 4 nights at a sea view bungalow. Both were lovely and clean, with a functional air conditioner and hot water shower. The main attraction at this resort is the beach. It is easily accessible and kept clean... More

Stayed at sea star for 13 days .We were given sea view bungalow no 13 but we asked to be moved because of construction work on a new hotel next door.We were moved to sea view bungalow no 18 which was behind the reception building .We found this one to be quite adequate in size .Of course the bed was... My daughter and I do not share a room so were very happy with the last 2 rooms available - in the little tower block in the gardens @ $46 per night each. Of course you are paying for the location, but what a location! The beach area is perfect, kept very clean, with safe netted bathing area of the... More

Moved here from an even worse hotel in Phu Quoc. From the outside it looks great, and on the whole it is. Had a Beach View Room as they are detached and probably more private than being on the beach. 50% + of clients are Russian as is the norm in Phu Quoc. The Good: Great location, near town &... More

We arrived on Phu Quoc with no reservations and picked Sea Star out of the Lonely Planet. Our Garden Bungalow was $56US a night (we only stayed one) which I thought was a bit steep. Yes, they have lovely grounds, and yes, the front verandah on the bungalows was quite nice but the beds were rock hard, our fridge didn't... More

We stayed in a Garden Bungalow which was lovely. Sea Star is located at a part of the beach where there happens to be a good supply of shade. Of course there is lots of sunshine too, but carrying those great heavy lounge chairs around is not a simple matter! Buffet breakfast was included at the Sea Star Restaurant, right... More

We stayed here in March 2014 (actually, we're still here), initially in a Sea View Bungalow and then in one of the garden ones. Both were excellent, although given the choice, I would choose the Sea View for obvious reasons. Rooms are a good size, with a/c, fridge and TV. As others have stated, the mattresses are quite hard but... More

My partner and I are currently staying at this resort and we are extremely disappointed with the service and the room for the amount we are paying ($85/night). We're looking at leaving tomorrow to stay at another resort on the island it's that bad. We have a seaside villa and there is no doubting that the beach is lovely and... More
