We absolutely loved La Veranda and Phu Quoc island. The hotel is wonderful in every way. It is French colonial in design and very comfortable. We had a suite with a veranda facing the beach centred in lush gardens. I really enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the evenings watching those magnificent sunsets. The kingsized bed was really comfortable, the... More

La Veranda Resort and Spa is an exquisite and reasonably priced resort that I must recommend to anyone seeking some genuine R & R while in Southeast Asia. This beautifully designed resort transports you back to the early French Colonial days of Indo China. The main building of the resort is 2 stories with a lobby and bar below. The... More

We stayed at La Veranda for five nights in a deluxe (entry level) room. We had trouble deciding whether to stay in a ‘cheap and cheerful’ resort, or whether to go for luxury. Both options would be lovely, but if you choose luxury then La Veranda is a wonderful paradise, very relaxing, and small enough to feel boutique. I wanted... More

Phu Quoc is a beautiful and, at the moment, largely unspoilt island off the coast of Vietnam - but developments proceed apace so go now! There is a variety of accommodation but the only place currently that could be called 'luxury' is La Veranda run by Grand Mercure. Blocks of 'ordinary' rooms and rooms in Deluxe villas are scattered through... More

La Veranda is a lovely, small hotel that offers high quality accommodation on the sleepy island of Phu Quoc. The rooms (we booked in the Deluxe Villa category) were charming, very comfortable, and had enormous bathrooms. The grounds and overall ambiance of the hotel was terrific, and by far the nicest we saw on the island. I was also impressed... More

We were worried that 9 nights may have been to long at this hotel as most reviews show guests only staying a few nights. No reason to worry as this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and spotlessly clean. Each night the turn down service left us clean towels, treats and... More

Prior to moving to La Veranda we had stayed at Cassia Cottage further down the beach. We were so happy at CC that we did not even want to go to La Veranda - especially bc it was double the price. Having said that since we pre-booked and paid we went --- and were thankfully not disappointed!! La Verandah is... More

We flew to Phu Quoc nursing sore feet after three days in hectic Ho Chi Minh City. The flight service on the short Vietnam Airlines flight is basic, but what do you expect for a short hop? We were met by a hotel rep, who took us - and one other person - to the hotel, where we were checked... More

We visited Vietnam Nov/Dec 2007 and stayed for 5 nights at La Veranda on the island of Phu Quoc. We booked a deluxe villa and hoped for a sea view which we sort of got. We flew with Vietnam Airlines from HCMC on a small propeller aircraft ATR 72-500, a smooth journey with a very basic service (one drink offered).... More

This place is a little oasis and a great place to recover from the sometimes, overstimulating city life of Vietnam. My husband and I stayed in an ocean villa for 5 days while visiting Vietnam. As stated in another review, there is nothing to do in Phu Quoc (unless you find joy in visiting a fish sauce factory), but that... More
