Hotel - the owners Travelling from London, we had a nightmare journey as we were re-directed from Pisa to Bologne which caused problems with car hire etc (don't EVER book with Easycar) so we were very late arriving at the hotel but we kept our spirits high. We started to have a chat to the owner but he was completely... more

The hotel was excellent as a base for touring Tuscany. Excellent for MOTGP which is why we were there. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been beautifully restored. Would stay again. more

We recently stayed at the Pian D'Ercole Resort. The location is great for trips into Florence and to explore the Tuscan area. We had a luxury room which meant we had a small garden, which was a nice place to sit in the early evening whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The bedroom was spacious, clean and was pleasantly decorated.... more

We booked this resort hotel mainly because we didnt want to be in the centre of Florence paying high prices and the fact that it was in the heart of "chiantishire" . After reading some reviews i was a bit worried, but we decided to go ahead as the price was excellent €49 a room ( double bed) and breakfast... more

I don't know about the nice reviews, but we certainly did not have the same experience. This is at best a three star hotel. 1) The owners seemed very nice, but did not speak much english. (don't be fooled by the web-site) 2) When we walked into the room it smelled like smoke. 3) The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.... more

We arrived at the hotel late evening by car which is about 1hr 30mins drive from the airport. The room was very clean and the place is so peaceful and can't fault the tranquility of the hotel. Being vegetarians the owners could not do enough for us, considering we were getting them to make meals which were not on the... more

We booked a week at the Pian D'Ercole following very positive reviews on various websites. On the plus side: The views from the hotel are picturesque - rolling hills and vineyards can be seen from the hotel restaurant/pool etc. The hotel is fairly near to a train station, about 20 minutes walk - with trains running every hour. (Single ticket... more

My husband and I were visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Italy last September and on a side trip to Florence, decided to try for a quieter place to stay outside the city. We found this lovely resort on the internet and booked directly through them. Very gracious hosts and a beautiful, quiet setting in the heart of Tuscany wine... more

Lovely renovated 17th century stone building in the Chianti Rufina region. By far, the nicest accomodation we found in Italy. Can get good discounts on their website or on [--]venere.it. 26 Roomed Hotel, Heated outdoor pool & excellent restaurant where you can sample wine that is made from the vines across the road. Couldnt recommend this hotel anymore. Pian d'Ercole... more
