This hotel stands amidst rock formations in a part of German Saxony, called Saxony Switzerland near the Elbe River. The Nature created amazing rock massives, some of them connected with narrow bridges, not good for people with vertigo. The hotel itself is very comfortable and opened year around. Also offers various massages and wellness cures for men and women, besides... More

Blurb Berg Hotel Bastei Drive past the remote parking, continue past all the walkers on the road to the hotel. Don't let all those no cars signs scare you off. The road dead-ends at the hotel, park in front to unload. You will be given a parking permit for free outdoor parking about 100 meters back down the road you... More

First, the service is awful (more on that later), the rooms are teeny tiny, and the food there is awful for the price and you can stay a walking distance to the Bastei bridge on the Elbe River. There you will find a quaint town with many price worthy holiday houses. We did not know this until we got there,... More

Dear Mr. S., thank you for giving a hotelrating of our house. We always appreciate it, when guests tell us their opinion and give suggestions. It is the best possibility to learn and to improve our service. We do care about every guest, whether they have already been here or not. That we did already well in the past, show... More

Iam a regular at this hotel. Arriving this time of the year (march), since the ammount of visitors is dramatically rising, turning the whole place in to a busy and overcrowded place in the spring/summer. Bastei is one of the most visited places in Germany and its well deserved. But if You want to have the rocks, the river and... More

Awarding 4 tripadvisor points to Berghotel Bastei is a mathematical calculation. Parts of this business deserve the full five points, other hardly deserve three. Let me explain… Location Five star, no doubt. You eat and sleep (and park your car!) where all the day trippers wish they were. It’s your privilege to explore the breathtaking view from Bastei bridge early... More

This is the best place to stay if you want to explore the area of the Bastei. We booked for a week and took advantage of one of the special offers, which included a foot massage, a cream tea at a hotel in the valley, etc and half board. We also paid extra for a room with a view. It... More

It was hard to locate the Bastei mountain Saxon Switzerland (outside Dresden) on a map. After much research, we found Berghotel Bastei, which, much to our amazement, is ON the Bastei. The trip to the famous scenic bridge starts in the courtyard. The hotel room was clean and adequate. We had peek views, but mostly we saw the courtyard and... More

This hotel is right inside the Saxon-Swiss Bastei park. We stayed here with another couple for one night on our trip to Germany. The hotel was perfect for our short stay in the Bastei as we could visit the bridge and hike on our arrival and also explore the next morning. The different light exposures in the morning and evening... More

The Bastei is east of Dresden, near the border of Poland. It is a natural land bridge very high up with a beautiful view below. There is a restaurant and hotel there, and some very nice artsy shops, but one goes to Bastei for a walk at altitude and a gorgeous view, and maybe a hike. I would not recommend... More

Together with a group of 10 friends I spent 3 nights at Berghotel Bastei. We went hiking, sailed to Königstein and visited the villages Hohnstein, Kurort Rathen and Stadt Wehlen. The location of the hotel is excellent if you plan to go hiking. There are great trails that take you through very different kinds of landscape starting right at the... More
