Maybe it was just an off night. I don't know for sure as my group did not go back after the 1st experience in the pub. Kilmartin Hotel is situated in a great location for checking out all the archaeology in the area. While we did not stay in the hotel, the place as a whole looks very welcoming. Once... More

My return visit to eat at this hotel was again a pleasant experience. I was part of a family group meeting with my Scottish(local) relatives. The service was friendly, the food and drink were enjoyable. I would eat here again when I next visit Scotland.

This sort of place, if it was in the south of England, would have been ruined. An old wayside inn next to ancient monuments in a spectacularly beautiful valley, it would have been gastropubbed to death, have a range of fashionably decorated "cabins" behind it - and lost it's charm. We had one of the front rooms at the top... More

The Kilmartin hotel is situated on the main road between Lochgilphead & Oban, & retains a wonderful bar which hasn't changed much in 30 years. The Kilmartin valley is a must for anyone interested in ancient history, & the village also boasts an award winning museum, a short walk from the Hotel. This is intended to be a food review,... More

We stay here usually at least once a year as we love the archaeology and the quiet and outstanding natural beauty of the area. The hotel allows dogs which is essential for us. Pricewise it is par for the course. The rooms are comfortable, whilst not totally perfect in terms of wear and tear they met our requirements. The staff... More

A friend and I stopped in here in our hour of need and were treated fantastically. We asked for service outwith the norm and received more than we expected. We know we were putting the staff out but they never showed this, treated us fantastically. While we didn't stay here and have no comments on the decor we couldn't have... More

The prices are a bit higher than you will find them in a bigger city but the quality of the food is worth it. The menu was very large, the vegitables where fresh and the meat was very tender and the sauce very tasty. The service was very nice, friendly and fast. The restaurant has a pub integrated but seperately.... More

When I checked other reviews I did wonder if we stayed at the same hotel? Recently stayed in the 'all seasons' room and was, quite frankly, disgusted. I know this is an old building but please do not make fun of your customers. At £55 per person this is not cheap. This room borders on being condemned, it is damn... More

Dropped in for dinner here on two nights and both times the food was very good with big and tasty servings and friendly staff. They have both "pub" food as well as more up market selections and we ate from both and were very happy with all the meals. It is located at Kilmartin in the centre of the Kilmnartin... More

Kilmartin Hotel is 300 years old and, yes, it does need some renovation. But if you enjoy the charm of old buildings and can get past the need for renovations it is a joy to stay there and the hotel has an old school pub, a small dining room and, best of all, excellent food. The rooms are quite clean... More
