This is an old hotel that is undergoing improvements...charming & quite adequate. Pleasant & quaint dining area with good food. Set in a rural area in a charming village across the street from an old Church of Scotland with many interesting grave sites.

We were staying at a local B&B and decided to have 3 evening meals at this Hotel as the food was so good. The staff were very friendly, approachable, helpful and gave great service. The standard of the food was excellent each evening. The chef had no difficulty in catering for a dairy allergy and the meals were innovative, attractive... More

From the outside it looks like a typical old roadside inn. Within, it was bustling with tourists and locals, and had a good selection of excellent real ale, but the food was the surprise. The flavour was outstanding in all the dishes we had. My beef pie was full of chunks of very tasty meat. Possibly the best dish of... More

On a weekend visit to Argyll we had the good fortune of been taken to this hotel for a evening meal. The selection on the menu was very good as was the prices. The bar was very busy and we had a wait for our meal but t be fair t the staff they kept us informed on progress and... More

Dropped in here for a meal, no reservation but the staff were great. They found me a table, were very welcoming and delivered a delicious meal pretty quick considering they were so busy. The service throughout was top quality - the barmaid and the waitress are very good at their jobs. Definitely worth a return visit next time I am... More

Maybe it was just an off night. I don't know for sure as my group did not go back after the 1st experience in the pub. Kilmartin Hotel is situated in a great location for checking out all the archaeology in the area. While we did not stay in the hotel, the place as a whole looks very welcoming. Once... More

My return visit to eat at this hotel was again a pleasant experience. I was part of a family group meeting with my Scottish(local) relatives. The service was friendly, the food and drink were enjoyable. I would eat here again when I next visit Scotland.

This sort of place, if it was in the south of England, would have been ruined. An old wayside inn next to ancient monuments in a spectacularly beautiful valley, it would have been gastropubbed to death, have a range of fashionably decorated "cabins" behind it - and lost it's charm. We had one of the front rooms at the top... More

The Kilmartin hotel is situated on the main road between Lochgilphead & Oban, & retains a wonderful bar which hasn't changed much in 30 years. The Kilmartin valley is a must for anyone interested in ancient history, & the village also boasts an award winning museum, a short walk from the Hotel. This is intended to be a food review,... More

We stay here usually at least once a year as we love the archaeology and the quiet and outstanding natural beauty of the area. The hotel allows dogs which is essential for us. Pricewise it is par for the course. The rooms are comfortable, whilst not totally perfect in terms of wear and tear they met our requirements. The staff... More
