Having on impluse decided on a random trip to one of our favourite parts of Scotland we elected to stay in a new location and chose this Hotel. Lucky us we got room 5 which had good views, was spacious, very warm & cosy with a huge bathroom. For us everything ticked the boxes, easy access to places we wanted to... more

Like other reviewers we had to eat dinner in the bar, which is odd, you'd imagine residents would automatically have a reserved seat in the dining room.As it happened this was fine with us as the bar was pleasantly lively with a good atmosphere and a nice mix of residents and locals.Service was cheerful and efficient. The food was very good and... more

The menu selection was very good and the food excellent. The Staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. The overall service was superb and very good value for money as was the room and views. I shall recommend this Hotel to my friends and family and will certainly revisit more

I only stayed one night. Thankfully, as I was disappointed. The carpet in my room was soaken as it had been heavy rain the previous day and clearly there was an issue with water entering. I pointed this out to reception, the man on duty came and looked at it but was fairly uninterested and could not leave the room... more

Have stayed here for a friends 40th celebration and the room was lovely and the dinner and service all fine, but have also tried to visit on a few occasions for lunch only to be told at ten to 2 that they could not do lunch as they had a wedding coming. My advice would be to get more staff!... more

Had an overnight here. The dining room is first rate. An interesting and adventurous menu - my blue cheese and pear galette was a first for me, and a real treat, competently and swiftly served by cheerful and helpful staff. As good as the food, the wine list goes well beyond your standard highland offering, with some top clarets, nice... more

We haven't stayed at this hotel but would recommend it for the food alone. It has a wide range of fantastic meals, a lot of which use locally sourced ingredients. It is always well cooked and well presented. We always found the staff very polite and helpful and it's the perfect place to sit outside (midges permitting) in the evening,... more

Have stayed at the Cairnbaan three times, not by choice as venue booked by client, but pleasantly surprised. Room 5 is spacious with views over the canal, a generous bathroom with a good power shower over the bath and distinctive old furniture which avoids that bland corporate hotel feel. The room was well equipped with TV/DVD/CD player, hairdryer, trouser press,... more

We found this place by accident and are thrilled that we did! We booked in with our teenage children and found the rooms to be comfortable, clean and reasonably sized. Our youngest daughter especially loved the breakfast menu, the only problem for her was which eggs to choose! The location is stunning and we were able to take advantage of... more
