My son and I had an excellent stay at this camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta. During our three night stay we were impressed with the luxury tents, quality of the food, warm and sincere hospitality of the staff, knowledge and focus of rangers, gorgeous gathering spaces on the water and of course the amazing animals. This was our third camp... More

We recently stayed @ Duma Tau & loved every minute. An elephant greeted us along with the staff as we arrived- a routine visit. The staff is friendly & gracious & the drives & sights quite remarkable. Mocks was our guide & always seemed to know where the pack of wild dogs was going, where the leopard was hiding &... More

Dumatau means "lion's roar" and one night we heard that roar outside our tent. This classic camp is located in the Linyanti concession on the more eastern part of Botswana. Guests reach the camp by small plane and then a 40 minute ride to the camp. Dumatau has 10 ensuite tens spread out along a river bank, where elephants are... More

This was the 2nd stop of our recent safari and we chose this camp due to the proximity to the channel to watch the elephants and hippos and we were not disappointed. The rooms are right on the waters edge with sweeping views yet private enough that neighbours cannot peer in. Well appointed rooms will good turn down service and... More

Dear Holidayfixation, Thank you for your wonderful review, we are glad you enjoyed your visit and are only sad to hear you did not enjoy the communal dining style that is often quite an enjoyable time for guests and staff alike. Unfortunately this is highly impacted or disturbed by the mixing of many different cultures and personalities. DumaTau, meaning ‘roar... More

After a small plane flight to a dirt run way, one takes about a 45 minute range rover trip to this bush camp. Located along the Linyati river, truly in the middle of nowhere, are ten lovely tents. The rooms are spacious, beds so comfortable it was hard to get out of them sometime but more importantly, a superb staff!!... More

Duma Tau was the second camp of my Botswana safari. The camp is in a great position facing the Linyati swamp. Tents are adequately appointed with private decks and river views. The raised timber walkway connecting the rooms is designed to let the animals pass on their way to the river. Elephants can often been seen crossing to the other... More

Thank you Orford60, for the fabulous review and sharing your adventurous memories with us, sounds like you were on a hunt more than the predators you were tracking. The boma/ Floating fire deck was one of the last additions to the new DumaTau and has proven a great success. A stand out feature as you enter the main area, a... More

Duma Tau is a 40 to 60 minute flight from Maun depending on the size of your plane and then a 30 minute drive from the airstrip. Every minute of that trip, and all the distance you've gone beforehand to reach Botswana is absolutely worth it. The Linyati concession area has only 3 Wilderness camps and throughout most of our...
