Wonderful place to stay! 1) Comfortable, clean bedrooms & communal rooms, very effective air conditioning, use of a kitchen if you want & roof terrace. Lovely haven after a day out & strong wifi to keep the children happy. 2) Delicious food - we are vegan plus the kids are very picky about what they will eat but everything was... More

I booked this guesthouse based on various reviews and write ups and it sounded intriguing. We liked the "Eco" ideas that seemed to be behind it and like to try different places to stay on our trips. I had extensive contact with the owner in England and even prepaid for an evening meal and was asked what time we would... More

Firstly I would like to reassure anyone booking a room with us that we have a robust method for reserving the rooms (the family's rooms were reserved) so no client need be concerned they have been forgotten. On this occasion the staff did not have a note of the clients' arrival although they had access to our online room reservation... More

This is the ninth of eleven riad reviews in Morocco, following the Ouarzazate review, and preceding Essaouira’s. Stayed here from 1st to 4th May, 2014. Maison Anglaise is not a hotel or a riad. It is an ordinary house that was built as a dormitory for visiting scholars and students. The English owner has since then founded a travel agency... More

Thank you for writing a lengthy review. I feel that it would be useful to add the following comments in an attempt to ensure that other travellers do not misinterpret some of the content. 1) Guests may choose to join our cooks to learn about Moroccan cookery and help in the preparation of meals or, if they prefer, just watch.... Have just returned from La Maison Anglaise with my husband and three young children and had a fabulous time. After a few busy days in Marrakech this wonderful guesthouse in a peaceful cul de sac in Taroudant helped us to see another side of Morocco. The room was perfect for us, enabling our children to be in an interconnecting room... More

We went as a group to La Maison Anglaise and had a wonderful holiday. All the Berber people were so warm, welcoming and hospitable. The trips to the Berber villages, women's argon oil co-operative, trekking in the Atlas Mountains, guided tours round Taroundant, the hamman, caleche ride, and fabulous food were all fascinating and such an experience, we really felt... Knowledgeable and helpful staff, wonderful vegetarian food, and trips away from the normal tourist routes, this hotel provided a wonderful base for a truly Moroccan experience which was a privilege to be part of. Also, it's ecological and community ethos helped make the holiday more interesting, and wholesome.

Wonderful place to stay and experience the Moroccan way of life and enjoy excellent food! Could have done with a clearer price list of the excursions and experiences though! The circle dancing was great with Barbara!

La Maison Anglaise is like a home from home. We felt so well cared for right from our arrival at Agadir airport where we were met by the drivers. They couldn't have cared for us better. The house was comfortable, homely and full of interesting information about the environment and culture. The food was plentiful and VERY tasty. The guest... More

Our second trip to this wonderful hostelry every bit as good as our first. All the usual wonders - superb staff, luscious meals, archetypal architecture, comfortable, convivial roof terrace. Good to revisit the Bee Orchard project and the Pigeon House project and see how they have developed in a year - both have, in environmental and topically aware ways. As... More

Much more than just a holiday experience. The hotel itself is warm and friendly and the staff are caring and and give every impression at loving working there. The food is as delicious as it is beautiful, and every meal a pleasure. Trips out with knowledgeable and friendly guides gave us a real insight into the villages and projects in... More
