This sprawling lodge is a destination around which it is worth planning one’s whole itinerary, two nights minimum. It is probably also the best place from which to connect to other offerings in the area of Taroudant, nearly all of which remain off the pages of tourist guides. The extensive grounds offer so many rare plants from Africa and the... More

Everything here (architecture, garden, furniture, food) is a stylish combination of the local (skills, climate, materials, products) and the cosmopolitan (design, lifestyle, conversation). Every piece of furniture is a work of art, the most refined and seemingly simple modern lines, in the warmest materiality of traditional hand crafting technique. It is clear that the designers, world-class landscape architects, invested all... More

Great hotel. The garden is spectacular, well deserving of all the articles and mentions in gardening books. The location is close to town, yet completely secluded. Food was good; service friendly; and the room was lovely. The place is very clean, and absolutely massive for the number of rooms. Olivier and his team took care of us very well, managed... More

Expectations were high prior to arrival, with the flashy website, and reviews in glossy magazines and top national newspapers. However when we turned up the place appeared deserted, and our driver eventually found a member of staff who didn't seem to know who we were or that we had a reservation. I had booked directly with the owner, but apparently... More

Dar al Hossoun is the perfect riad - a paradise garden and the most peaceful place to stop and rest that you could wish. Olivier, the owner, went out of his way to please us. He organised all our tours and outings. The food was fresh, very varied and full of homemade delights - we ended up having all our... More

Once you find it, this is an oasis just outside town in an enclave of similar properties, well run with a very helpful and well connected and knowledgeable French owner and attentive enthusiastic Moroccan staff. Beautifully kept designer gardens, good food, relaxed atmosphere, happy dogs and cats in residence. Wifi was patchy but that does not seem to be the... More

This was a great place to stay and we loved the beautiful gardens and the beautiful surroundings. The rooms are lovely and all furnished with attention to detail. Both the breakfast and the dinners were excellent and the staff helpful and very competent. We were given good advice on what to see and where to go iin and around Taroudant.... More

The property really is very beautiful and I agree with all it's excellent reviews. We spent 7 nights here in the Room 1 - Jacaranda in the Al Borj Annex. Ollivier (the owner) was very helpful and obliging, we really enjoyed the picnic in the Palmiere on New Year's day considering we're not much for organized expeditions and each evening meal... More

We had a wonderful time at Dar al Hossoun. The hotel is built within a massive, varied garden, containing over 900 different plants, landscaped to show off all the unique plants. Each room is located within the garden in a traditional Moroccan structure, giving lots of privacy and peace and quiet. The hotel is a beautiful place to relax and... More

We have just enjoyed 10 days in Morocco. It was a memorable experience. Al Hossoun from our experience, was disappointing. We have reviewed most of our accomodation locations, in three countries, and this one was the only one, we remembered for the wrong reasons. Arriving in the dark, the location was difficult to find, due its remoteness. Why the hotel... More
