I spent 3 nights at Tsauchab River Camp in the Tsabi Tsabi Chalet, and I loved my stay. First of all, the location was perfect for me. I wanted to hike the trails in the nearby portion of Namib-Naukluft National Park and also visit Sossusvlei, and I thought Tsauchab River Camp was an affordable place from which to visit both.... This is one place where you can really experience nature and true Namibian hospitality at affordable rates. The diversity of the land on which this gem sits is truly amazing. Have dinner under the stars bring a sense of enormousness peace and tranquility. The only and sad thing is when the day comes when you have to leave. Johan, Nicky... More

We were blown away by this unique campsite. Enough space between sites ensure privacy, the service was beyond helpful and extremely friendly, and we were served some of the best game meat we found in the entire Namibia. Highly recommended!

We were a group of friends that did the Naukluft 8 day hike. It was so refreshing to arrive at Tsauchab River Camp after the hike. From the 1st moment we drove up the driveway we were impressed with the creative "scrap" art and creativity. Niki and Johan were outstanding hosts. We arrived there without any food. That night we... It is seldom that an experience at a camp site leaves me without words. This was one of them. We spent two nights at Tsauchab after we hiked the 8-day Namib Naukluft Hiking Trail. During this time, our hosts (Johan and Nicky) treated us like royalty and long-lost family at the same time. They have a small bar and shop,... More

We enjoyed two amazing camping nights at the secluded Oerwald Camp. The camp and facilities itself are unique, under the shady trees close to the Tsauchab River. Beautiful contrasting landscape with the little river oasis. Well marked walking trails, also ideal for younger kids. Easy to spend 2-3 days here. Andreas looks after the camp and facilities, what a bonus.... More

Tsauchab is run by a family providing a very good service and ensuring a great atmosphere. The place has lots of personality (metal art all over) and is embedded in a wonderful nature. Good food. Stay 2 nights.

The owner, Johan is one of the most helpful people I have ever met with the best camp I have ever come across in Southern Africa. The campsites are well thought out with unique features including a toilet block being built into a fig tree. The reception area has a nice bar and pool and there's plenty of supplies in... More

Driving over there turned out to be an adventure already. The gravel roads are quite terrible and one of our tyres didn't make it. Arriving at the Tsauchab River camp eventually I learned that Johan the owner does also trade tyres; hence I could replace the broken one with a very good used one of the same brand and model....
