Hi we were staying in hillend lodge at lagginlia. I was a little disappointed as we arrived on Friday night and stayed till Sunday afternoon. We did not have any hot water or heating from Saturday morning. Other than that is was really good. I would recommend it for youth club nights away.

This is the second time that we have stayed here as a group. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A wide variety of activities are available on and off site with fully trained staff. The lodge we stayed in was basic, comfortable and adequate for our needs. A great place to stay for an activity holiday.

We arrived on Easter Friday and inadvertently went into the wrong lodge. We had lunch there and then realised we should have been in the Anderson. The staff did not notice this mistake and all went home. The complex was without staff the whole weekend until Monday 21st. We had a lovely time in a beautiful location and made the... More

Hi thank you for your review - I just want to answer a couple of the points you made: I am glad you like the location - as I have said before we offer comfortable activity rated accommodation, used by schools Mon-Fri, but available at other times at an affordable price for groups - it is the fantastic location that... Just spent a long weekend in Sgoran Lodge and we found the lodge excellent for the four families and children of young ages. It was clean and extremely well designed for our party. (11 adults, 3 young children and a baby) Furnishings and accommodation adequate for our purposes and the facilities were excellent, with bikes and sledges being used on... More

So glad to hear that you and your group enjoyed your stay! Thank you for your kind remarks Connectivity is, I agree poor, its a real problem in this area of the Highlands and local businesses and Visit Cairngorms are lobbying hard for the available bandwidths and speeds to be increased. Our accommodation does not pretend to be anything other... More

I recently stayed at lagganlia centre and I have to say I was a tad disappointed. I stayed in the main building in a room called 'Rothiemurchus' and it was filthy. when we arrived we found litter including: sweet wrappers, a used water bottle, used pairs of shoes in our room. we were left to pick the rubbish out of... It his been rather amiss of me not to write a review before now. As a family group we have used Lagganlia twice , May 2012 and May 2013. Staying in Anderson Lodge we found the accommodation satisfactory for our group .of 7 adults and 3 children.. The Lounge/Dining room is more than adequate to cater for these numbers. Kitchen... I went here for a family holiday and it was fantastic! There was a great range of activities to do, which were all fun. We found this little area that was like a crossover of a beach & river, which was a great find! My only disappointments were; I felt the guy who was helping us was a little rude... More

Hi Reginald Thank you for your review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us especially the activities. I agree that we have had some problems with our usual standards of cleanliness - we have been 1 cleaner down for some time and this showed especially during the summer holiday peak season. I am pleased to be... More

We stayed with a large group of friends ranging in age from 60s to 8 months in the main centre for 1 week to celebrate New Year 2013. We were self catering groups ranging from families to a joint buffet for 45! Lagganlia is perfect for such a get - together. The rooms range from singles to those taking 6... More

We stayed here in April 2010. A group of 5 mums and 10 children ranging from 2 years to 12 years old. This facility is owned by Edinburgh city council and is used as an outward bound experience for schools and other groups. This should alert people to the fact that it is not luxury five star accommodation. It is,... More
