Just spent a night here with our daughter a young grandsons, the room was above our expectations, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent for an evening meal and breakfast was better than some 4 star hotels. All staff we met were extremely friendly and very helpful. We would certainly use Loch Insh Hall again.

We (3 walkers) had booked room 12 (1 bunk bed, 2 single beds) in the hostel for 1 night. We were surprised at the high standard of this accommodation and whilst the mattresses on the beds were a bit firm, they were of a good quality as was both the bedding and the towels, of which there were plenty. Both... More

Whilst on a weekend break to Newtonmore over the xmas holidays, we were told to try this restaurant. We visited twice during our break, as we were so impressed with the place. It is a beautiful wooden building with stunning views over the loch. The food is lovely as well. It is just such a nice peaceful place to sit... More

A neat, cosy little on suite room, with absolutely everything you require. It's hostel characteristics of Common Room, drying room etc., an added advantage. Breakfast being served in the Lodge overlooking the Loch was excellent, and all the better for the scenery. We didn't take advantage of the free morning and evening use of watersports facilities, but enjoyed watching those... More

I've been living in Scotland for more than 4 years with my family and travelling a lot around Scotland, this is the worst place we've ever been there. Our room was extremely cold all over the night and we had to wear layers of clothes with hat and jacket on in the room, although the manager said the heating system will... More

Mr Parsa & family, This was a repeat booking! They arrived 2.30pm for 4pm (2 hours before the 'check in' time. Arrival and departure times were personally advised at the time of booking) Guests came to office saying the room was cold and were given blankets for each bed. Central heating boiler checked to be on from 3.30pm to 10pm... More

We needed a cheap stopover for a family of four en route to Wester Ross. The family B/B hostel/hotel rooms were perfect. Excellent value, interesting environment and lovely meal at on site restaurant. Accommodation staff were hard to find but restaurant/bar staff were lovely and helpful.

My husband, son and I , run the village store in Kincraig and therefore have little time off. We love to go down to the Loch Insh Watersports for a relaxing meal. I like that it's cosy and friendly with plenty of space fo me to get up and walk about. ( I have a polyarthropathy which means I am... More

Found this online, can only say, it was wonderful. The chalet was very well stocked and comfortable. We stayed in the Knockando and the view was perfect, couldn't believe it was possible to wake up and look onto a 'mirror'. This had to be seen to be believed. All staff we came across were lovely. Supper in the Boathouse was... More

Spent 2 nights here as part of a walking weekend. It proved to be a good choice. A lot of detached buildings, cabins tastefully arranged above the loch. Can be a bit of walk to the dining area (especially if it rains) but once here the view over the loch takes some beating and is what makes this place. Room... More

We stayed here at the Loch Insch Hall with friends which was classed as a hostel on their website however is it certainly more than this, the rooms are clean and have everything you need with tea/coffee making facilities, towels etc. We received a warm welcome at the reception on arrival, where they were very helpful with information on local...
