Insh hall is situated in the Scottish highlands and comprises of B&B rooms and self-catered apartments and chalets. We were staying in the Penthouse apartment which comprises of a single room downstairs with En-suite, a double room upstairs with a bunk bed, a bathroom, large living/dining room and kitchen. There is parking space for a couple of vehicles right outside... More

We stayed at Insh Hall in basic room. Not luxurious but very great value for the amount we paid. Cotinental breakfast was included which was great. Located behind the watersport centre on the Loch and you're allowed free use at certain times. Mostly kayaking, canoeing and windsurfing. The breakfast was basic, lunch great and dinner really good. In addition to... More

My friend and I stayed here on a touring trip for 3 nights. Accommodation for us was set higher up from the Loch and restaurant / bar. Quite steep steps for those that don't like exercise to get to breakfast or the loch waterfront. There are 2 vehicle access points, one for the restaurant / waterfront and the other back... More

Stayed in a family room for five for 3 nights, was glad I had seen the photos of the room on the website as accommodation is basic but website photos are a true reflection. Bunk beds a bit rickety but good mattresses so comfy enough. TV could only be seen from top bunks although two hard back chairs also provided.... More

Breakfast was included and was substantial. We drove in to the mess hall area not realizing it wasn't the dorm area. We were directed to the front office but there was no one there. We had pre-paid so we were able to get into our room because it was unlocked with our key inside. The food was okay that night... More

Just spent a night here with our daughter a young grandsons, the room was above our expectations, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent for an evening meal and breakfast was better than some 4 star hotels. All staff we met were extremely friendly and very helpful. We would certainly use Loch Insh Hall again.

We (3 walkers) had booked room 12 (1 bunk bed, 2 single beds) in the hostel for 1 night. We were surprised at the high standard of this accommodation and whilst the mattresses on the beds were a bit firm, they were of a good quality as was both the bedding and the towels, of which there were plenty. Both... More

Whilst on a weekend break to Newtonmore over the xmas holidays, we were told to try this restaurant. We visited twice during our break, as we were so impressed with the place. It is a beautiful wooden building with stunning views over the loch. The food is lovely as well. It is just such a nice peaceful place to sit... More

A neat, cosy little on suite room, with absolutely everything you require. It's hostel characteristics of Common Room, drying room etc., an added advantage. Breakfast being served in the Lodge overlooking the Loch was excellent, and all the better for the scenery. We didn't take advantage of the free morning and evening use of watersports facilities, but enjoyed watching those... More

I've been living in Scotland for more than 4 years with my family and travelling a lot around Scotland, this is the worst place we've ever been there. Our room was extremely cold all over the night and we had to wear layers of clothes with hat and jacket on in the room, although the manager said the heating system will... More

Mr Parsa & family, This was a repeat booking! They arrived 2.30pm for 4pm (2 hours before the 'check in' time. Arrival and departure times were personally advised at the time of booking) Guests came to office saying the room was cold and were given blankets for each bed. Central heating boiler checked to be on from 3.30pm to 10pm... More
