Having spent 2 nights in the middle of Chaweng Beach, arriving at Shangrila Bungalows was a refreshing sight. We went for a basic fan room which was on the small side for two people but perfectly adequate for 3 nights. Idyllic beach front location on a peaceful beach with fantastic views over to Koh Phangan, good choice of food at... More

Shangrila has bungalows to suit all budgets. I am only going to review the budget bungalows (fan, cold shower, no more than 700 THB in high season) as these are the only bungalows I have stayed in. I've been staying at Shangrila for short periods for about 10 years. The bungalows are very clean and although old are very well... More

Planned to stay 2 nights when backpacker-travelling with my friend and in the end extended the stay to 5 nights. Althought the bungalow we had was no luxury (but also, we payed 600 THB/night for it so satisfied anyway), we had a great location of the hut with a small terrace facing the sea, close to the main building with... just a few wooden bungalows clubbed together around an open-air restaurant. no soap / AC in the room. beds didn't look very clean. all very basic, just okay for 1 night if you need to catch a ferry the next day. taxi from hotel to pier was expensive according to Thai standards.

Our bungalow had fan, AC, fridge, shower, warm water. With our double bad + materace for a child it was already almost compeletely full. We paid 1400 /night (2 adults+ small child) We were there off season - end of Sept. There are also much cheaper bungalows available without AC, fridge, warm water... good points: * great beach with shadow... More

We came here for 3 nights, but finally stayed for 6 nights. Bungalows were clean, pricing was very reasonable (1300 baht per night for beachfront bungalow). Restaurant was ok. Beach was clean and it was nice to walk (about 10minutes) to nearby restaurants on the beach. Staff was nice, special thanks to waitress girl on restaurant.

We spent 3 nights here with our three kids in the new beach front bungalow. Awesome view, terrific beach and spacious accommodation. The restaurant offers reasonable food and whilst service isn't big on the list here in general, the staff are cettainly pleasant enough. Peaceful location away from all hustle and bustle. We'd happily book here again.

We stayed at the Shangrilah for 3 nights, originally only intending to stay for 2. We stayed in a beautiful, modern air com room the 1st night for 2000 baht. (They have fan rooms which are much cheaper.) However, when we went for breakfast on the 2nd day we noticed that the beachfront villa had became free and decided to... More

We stayed in the second hut from the beach (400B per night). It was a basic and shabby room with en-suite, no frills cold-water shower bathroom and a very noisy fan. We ended up sleeping without the fan most nights because the screeching noise was unbearable and it resulted in the room being extremely hot (even with the windows open).... More
