We are in our seventies, looking for a quiet break and took up a `Sun` newspaper promotion 4 night caravan holiday. We chose the area as it is way off the beaten track, quaint and remote. We were a little apprehensive to read some of the critical and negative reviews on the internet, but we had no need to worry.... More

We stayed here for a weekend 20th -23rd Feb & had a lovely time. I'd read the previous reviews & was a little worried but as if ticked so many boxes for us (hot tub, soft play, pool, kids entertainment) we decided to give it a go. We chose a North Lakes Lodge with a hot tub. It was very... More

Just spent a week at Solway for the second time having previously visited in 2012. First of all we found the chalet (we stayed in 44) to be very clean and neat. It had everything we needed in it (although we would have liked some cleaning materials to use before we left) and was warm with the heaters on. Electricity... More

Stayed in a caravan which was clean and warm the people where very friendly and helpful . Thier is not much around and have to drive out to but is local to Carlisle castle and Keswick. The entertainment was ok but did not really take part and rather in pub down stairs was warmer. Went into swimming pool and was... More

We are currently here staying in Chalet 61 (Buttermere) directly opposite reception. This is our 3rd visit here and think this may be the last based on so many things. Firstly the Lodge (Old Chalet with plastic cladding) - It is clean and so long as we feed in the pound coins it is also warm but the lay out... More

Me and 5 other friends stayed here in the Orlando caravan from Friday until Monday in February 2015. The caravan was clean, tidy and in a good location. The pricing for things was very good, to hire the tennis court was only £2.50 per person and a £10 refundable deposit. They had a swimming pool, farm, tennis court, football court,... More

We arrived at around half past 9 (pm) on a Friday. The place is like a ghost town. The bar was absolutely dead. We collected our keys and dropped our stuff off in the chalet. After scrambling around in the darkness for 15 minutes we finally located the electricity meter - this provided you with about 20 minutes of electricity... More

We stayed in one of the chalets in May 2014. From checking in to checking out the staff were so helpful in every way possible. The chalet was clean and tidy, The crockery and cutlery were clean. We booked in with our dog and so did not expect the accommodation to be as clean as it was. Some people will... More

Smaller bar only open as not very busy so didnt see the entertainment one. The only downfall is you have to pay in the chalet for electric which can be... More

Hi Guys, many thanks for your kind words, it's really nice to hear from our guests. I am sure you noticed the on going maintenance around the park particularly the windows in the Lodges, this is a major job but we are getting there with them! We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. More

We arrived to b told we were double booked, offered a caravan with no place for cot or a chalet, we took chalet big mistake. Having looked your comments we are very disappointed at them. Firstly it was the booking agent who double booked you NOT us. Even though we were very busy we managed to offer you a couple of alternatives and after inspecting both you decided to take the lodge. We replaced the mattress and supplied the additional items you requested, and as... More
