Having just returned from 3 days here my advice to anyone thinking about booking a stay is do not hesitate. Baudry is quite simply wonderful. Set in stunning countryside, with lush tropical gardens this eclectically furnished logis style house (a riad is the closest design I can think of) is a stunning home to stay in. Our room -No 1-... What an amazing hotel - quite beautifully created by the perfect hosts Francois and Helene. I wanted a quiet, comfortable base to stay for 3 days at the beginning of August and couldn't have found anywhere better. Intimate (only 5 bedrooms), furnished to make you feel at home and with a garden to die for. Helene's cooking was delicious and... More

A beautiful rustic old country Chateau in an idyllically peaceful location with a relaxed and homely atmosphere. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. The Chateau is authentically furnished with antiques, and retains many of its original features. Parts of it extremely old. It is full of character. Francois and Helene are excellent hosts, and all that the reviews say about Helene's... More

We agree totally with all the positive comments read so far on T/A. Our 4 day stay in May this year was one of the highlights of our 5 weeks in the southern half of France. We knew we were having a a truly authentic French provincial experience while staying on this historic 25 hectare rural property. Highlights were: -... More

This is a very personal experience in several ways. With only five rooms you are ensured personal attention from Francois and Helene. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are able to answer any query and make suggestions for places to visit or wines to try. Francois has an exhaustive knowledge of the area and will provide suggestions of... More

Had our 5th visit to Chateau des Baudry and this is one of our favourites places in the world to be. The minute you drive up the long drive way, its consistently wonderful and Helene's cooking remains unbeatable. We're huge fans, based on the consistently wonderful experience of staying there. The grounds are lovely at this time of year, so... More

Our 6 night stay at Chateau des Baudry could not have been better! Our room was splendid (room 3) and the meals fantastic! The location is perfect for seeing the entire Dordogne Valley (plus St. Emilion area). Francoise and Helene are the perfect hosts and Helene's cooking is amazing! Bravo!

From the moment you turn into the 500m drive, to the moment the owners wave you goodbye, you will transported to another world. This is simply the best hotel I have ever stayed at (twice), a perfect mix of space, comfort, tranquility, and 5* cuisine. Excellent conversation, and a completely relaxed but professional approach. This is noblesse oblige as it's... More

We stayed at Chateau des Baudry during a tour of France for our wedding anniversary - I had initially been trying to find a place in or around St Emilion however everything was either too expensive for what it was or just not right. I came across the Chateau by pure chance and thank goodness I did!! I'm so glad... More

We stayed two nights which we had pre booked and came back for another night 1 week later. It was authentic and magnificent. Large rooms tastefully decorated in French style. Lovely tranquil courtyard. But the real reason to stay here is the hospitality of the hosts and the dining experience. Come and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
