I was looking for a place to stay overnight on our way back to Cape Town. What a find! Rooms are tastefully decorated, so comfortable and a lovely breakfast to get us going the following day. Such a beautiful Guesthouse with all the lovely "extra's" and Norma is a gem!

We chose The Storms River Guest Lodge as a weekend getaway from busy city life. Nora is a very friendly and attentive host, who made our whole stay very comfortable. She was always around when we needed her but never overly attentive that we felt we were smothered. A friendly, warm, homely feel to this bed and breakfast made us... More

Friendly welcome, helpful service, and comfortable room with views of the garden and distant mountains, plus excellent breakfast and secure parking. Well situated for walks to the village and beyond to the forests. Only drawback being the upstairs veranda with chairs out for each room is also the walkway access for the rooms, so privacy a little compromised - a... More

I found this accommodation while driving by when a stormy night was brewing. I was welcomed into a lovely comfortable common area and my room was large and well appointed. Good food, good atmosphere, nice outdoor spaces and helpful hosts.

We only slept over on our way to PE and did not stay long enough to make a fair assessment. Everything was good but we do feel it was a little over priced. Rooms were clean and the lady at reception very friendly.

The room was so cosy and comfortable with Electric blanket, heater, coffee and DSTV, it felt like home. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family and will stay there again. Natural beauty all around.

This is a difficult one. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, and the bathroom was large and airy. However as mentioned it felt like the hotel was run solely as a business not a passion. It was a shame Nora was not on hand at breakfast, to wlecome everyone to their tables. The 1st... More

We were warmly greeted and shown to the reception area by the resident dog, who we were informed is the welcoming committee. We were shown to our room by the owner. I was most impressed with the bed side lamps which come on when any part of the lamp is touched, it has a further 3 settings from a lovely... More

Storms River Guest Lodge offers clean and comfortable rooms, and an incredibly friendly and helpful owner, but overall it all just feels a bit like a functional business hotel. The building itself is far from attractive, and the rooms are very dark, though the bathroom was spacious with a decent shower. There’s a small pool out the back to sit... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Storms River Guest Lodge is located in the peaceful village of Storms River, in the heart of the Tsitsikamma, which forms part of the Garden Route. Tsitsikamma is a Khoi/Nama word meaning 'place of abundant water'. The region is bordered at the north by the Tsitsikamma Mountains and in the south by the Indian Ocean. The village is surrounded by natural occurring indigenous forest, Fynbos and commercial plantations. This charming lodge is a Bed and Breakfast (which is suitable for small and large groups), consisting of a double story building with 14 spacious, en-suite rooms. The top story has a large veranda that offers panoramic views of the Storms River Mountain Peak and the tranquil lodge gardens. Other facilities include a private swimming pool that the whole family can enjoy. In addition, the lodge is in close proximity to a variety of exciting activities that cater to both the adventurous, and those looking to put their feet up for a relaxing break. The area also hosts a number of meandering hiking trails, the Tree Top Canopy Tours; Black Water Tubing; mountain biking; segways and horse riding. The area also boasts the highest commercial bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. The Storms River Mouth - with its spectacular shoreline - is the start of the famous Otter Hiking Trail and is situated in the Tsitsikamma National Park and is a mere 10 kilometres away. For a more relaxing experience, there is the Tsitsikamma Mountain Spa where you will be pampered. With such an abundance of natural beauty, it is hard to resist the allure of this magical place. What better place to settle in for the night, after an exhilarating day outdoors, than the Storms River Guest Lodge? Indulge in cool breezes and the sound of chirping crickets on the veranda in summer or cosy up to an intimate log fire in winter with a decadent mug of hot chocolate (or even an indulgent glass of red wine!).The lodge offers a little slice of heaven to everyone, and even the weariest of travellers will leave rejuvenated!Should you need any assistance during your stay, the hostess, which is also the owner, will be able to assist you with any needs you might have, and even help you to plan your activities. ... more   less
