I cannot recommend this hotel enough, from arrival the staff, service and accommodation were excellent. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the drawing room, and then made use of the spa facilities, pool, steam room. Enjoyed a good night sleep in a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and plentiful. The hotel is situated in a stunning location and had... More

The location of this hotel and spa is fantastic, with great views and local walks. We stayed for a wedding and it certainty isn't cheap. I don't think it is worth what we paid: small thinks like missing bathrobes and slippers for the room (which in fairness the staff sorted fairly quickly). The spa was not the best. The worst... We stayed one night for my birthday but did not eat at the hotel in the evening as we were dining elsewhere. On arrival at lunchtime we were told our room was not ready which was fine as rooms are ready from 3pm. We wandered into the bar expecting there to be staff there to take our drinks and lunch... We stayed for a mini break over the Christmas / New Year break, with my family and my elderly mother. We had the family room and my mum had a single. Overall the hotel is gorgeous and an amazing setting with lovely views over farmland fields and hills in the distance. The hotel was decked out tastefully for Christmas as... More

Surrounded by nothing else but sheep and green pastures, the old mansion welcomes you not only from its strong character but also by the staff who is relaxed, friendly and service oriented. The rooms are very nice, I had "The Chesnut". Bathrooms are modern, well equipped. On arrival, late evening, there were very strong winds and they had to trasnfer... More

Booked on line but never received confirmation, had to call to check they had us booked in. Told on check-in that there was no availability in Restaurant for dinner, only the bar available. Went to check out pool and was told that due to a recent power cut it was advisable not to use it as it was so cold... More

I stayed here on the night of Sun 4 Jan for one night with a friend, a break that I booked day before on the 'Sunday Night Club' offer. Arriving at the hotel we were warmly greeted and shown to the twin room which was one of the biggest I have ever seen, it was incredible. We then had a... More

This is a really beautiful hotel and we were impressed with our room. All the public areas are grand and yet cosy at the same time. Breakfast was excellent in terms of choice and quality of food although the tea one morning was made by a new member of staff who seemed never to have encountered loose leaf before and... More

Just spent Christmas night here for the second year in succession and it just gets better and better. The setting is remote with beautiful views from this fabulous period house. The welcome is warm and friendly. All the staff very engaging and cant do enough to enhance your stay. Loved the rooms with such attention to detail. Loved the "Do... More

This really is a great little hotel located in an idyllic country setting. The hotel is well appointed and has managed to retain some excellent period features whilst providing all the services expected of a good 4* hotel - free wifi, flat screen TVs and quality toiletries in the rooms and comfortable bar and lounge areas. If there is a... More
