Scenery& location amazing but welcome to the 80's.This place looks, smells and tastes stale and dated. The rooms are rustic not modern.Very quaint looking. My tip take walk local Levada(fantastic) and avoid hotel breakfast(terrible).

The best thing about this hotel is the views. Rooms are either in round cabins or rooms with balcony at the top of the sea cliffs. We stayed in the latter and had a great view of sun rise from our bed. Rooms are fine for an overnight stay while travelling round the island. They have a basic indoor swimming... More

Beware!!! The hotel did have fantastic views, however this was the only positive we are afraid. We were expecting oast type bungalows, with sea views, a swimming pool - near the coast/beach and a village... The reality was it was miles from anywhere, sea view bedroom was antiquated, basic and smelt mouldy with rusty furniture on the balcony. The swimming... More

Bungalow was clean and comfortable. We loved the quiet stay and nice relaxing area in front of our room overlooking the beautiful views! The breakfast was simple but good! The staff speak English well and he is very friendly. They don't offer free wifi in the room but there is a games room available to the guests and can use... More

We stayed on a walking trip. The rooms are spacious and the central facilities good. Its some distance from anywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was cold (November) and towels of poor quality and no means to dry them.

The hotel with its round-shaped conic-roofed bungalow is a little odd. It has probably seen better times Location: on the Northern ring road directly above the ocean. The bungalow are surrounded by small, but very well kept tropical gardens. Facilities: the bungalows offer you a lot of space, the furniture is quite simple. in the main building (round shaped and... We first saw this hotel in a brochure back in the 80s. Round chalets, round restaurant - very trendy! But it's not moved on from the 80s & it makes you realise how expectations have increased over the years. No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, no fridge.... And it hadn't been that well maintained with cracked tiles in the shower.... More

I stayed 3 nights at Cabanas with my husband. We had a wonderful time there. All is very clean and neat, the rooms are spacious and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant serves very good quality food and wine for reasonable prices. The breakfast is very rich and certainly one of the best in the island for the room... More

We went to Madeira for 4 nights and wanted to spent 2 nights in the north and 2 in the south. We chose 2 nights at this hotel because we got great deal on Expedia (£ 29.00 per night/room including breakfast) and because it looked pretty on the photos. The first night we were the only people staying there. The... More

The hotel has several 'rooms' in the grounds which are easy to access for those with disabilities. The staff are extremely accommodating and did their best to look after our every need. I went with my elderly mother thinking that we would have a relaxing holiday by the pool in the sunshine. I did not research fully before hand and... More
