Stayed one night in a villa (because all the normal rooms were booked), beautifully decorated with a small kitchen area. The fireplace was lovely to have on a cold night. The only downside was that the place had a really bad moldy smell... The villa as well as the common areas at the hotel are decorated in an "old quinta"... More

This hotel was a real surprise, much better quality than we had expected. Breakfast was lovely, swimming pool and fitness centre a really good resource. Good cliff top walking. Food in restaurant was amazing, do go for the "Culinary Experience", head waiter Jose was great fun. The only one negative would be that you had a short walk to and... More

The Quinta Do Furao is on the edge of Santana, a village on the North coast characterised by some traditional thatched "A-frame" cottages. The hotel itself is a striking building on a cliff-top surrounded by vines, and the views along the coast are stunning. The hotel has 39 rooms and 4 suites. Most rooms have balconies and are of a... We had a wedding reception at this hotel. We did have a brief look at the rooms and they are wonderful but pricy...location is not the greatest and you are very far from everything. Weather is also worse in this part of the island. Very historical and traditional.

We have just spent a night at Quinta do Furão and can recommend it very highly. The quinta is in a spectacular position overlooking an amazing set of rocky cliffs, the gardens are lovely and there are vineyards all around. It is easy to find, although off the main road, the quinta can be spotted in its prominent position. The... More

Me and my partner have recently visited this hotel. We stayed here for a walking holiday, and would most certainly recommend this hotel. ROOM: The hotel itself is pleasantly decorated and clean. Our room (a standard one) had a normal size and looked beautiful. There was free water, tea, coffee and fruit in our room. There were bathrobes but no... More

My husband and I stayed at four different types of accommodation while visiting Madeira, Quinta Do Furao is in an enviable position in the countryside but high up overlooking the sea. The exterior and interior in all rooms were in good condition and the whole place had a very relaxing feel. We had a warm welcome by all the staff... More

Ideally located at a 5min drive from Santana city centre and close to any touristic attraction or interesting walking paths in the north of Madeira, including Caldeirao Verde, Levada do Rei, Penha de Aguia, etc. the hotel is a former quinta surrounded by lovely vineyards, off a cliff on the north shores of Madeira. The hotel setting is magnificent and... More
