If you are a tourist and are planning a visit to Crete, you should know that Bali is a totally avoidable place and that Village Stone is a disgusting place with rats (yes, rats!) running over the trees, rooms really unclean (specially a depressing bed and a bathroom coming from the 60s) and swimming pools lacking of maintenance. One thing is being a... More

This was our 9th visit to Stone Village & as usual it didn't disappoint. We never tire of the views from the units, we've stayed in most parts of the complex so can comment with confidence. The staff are cheerful, helpful & welcoming & the owner, Dimitris, is always pleased to see us. We went with another couple this year... More

I thought this stone village was a couple of hundred years old and just remodeled for modern times. I spoke with the front desk and they informed me that the owner had this village built about 11 years ago. The apartment style hotel village is made of stone and big huge wooden beams throughout. Front desk staff very friendly and... More

We have just returned from 8 days at Stone Village and have a wonderful time. We booked because of the central location, because it looked so nice (it's actually nicer) and of course the reviews. I can't really imagine how, at this price you will get any better. It is about 50 mins from Heraklion and is easy to find.... More

If you are looking for a quite and nice place, book a room there. Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is always available and smiling. We should have stayed longer there. A beach is at a walking distance from the hotel. You shall rent a car to visit around : Héraklion, Réthymnon, and all the beautiful places around. Many... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in the last week of Septemeber, it's a beautiful, quiet place. The staff are very friendly & helpful. We stayed in apartment 24 which had 2 lovely balconies, the one out the back was quite big & we made ourselves a meal & sat out one night with candles looking at the stars :-)... More

stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to visit bali and lake Kournas. This place is really amazing set in the hills just outside Bali. we had a small split apartment and it was perfect size for the 3 of us. What was totally amazing was our balcony - we had a huge balcony the largest in the complex... More

I made a booking for a week at this hotel via booking.com over a week ago and the booking was confirmed at the time. The hotel did not process my booking and have now refused to honour it. Their excuse was that my credit card was rejected but I can confirm my credit card company was not sent any request... More

We stayed at the sTone Village for 3 nights in June 2014. The village is in the mountains behind the seaside village of Bali, away from all the hustle and bustle but only a 5 minute drive away if you want to see whats going on down there. There is an on site carpark and over flow so we never... More

The Stone Village is nestled in the valley of a beautiful mountainous backdrop and lies only a short distance from Bali's beaches ideally located between Rethymnon and Iraklion in central Crete. The hotel itself is authentic Cretan - it has a real rustic feel about it and in the heart of the hills visitors will experience a sense of a... More
