Incredible accommodations in rich historical and cultural setting. The hosts are gracious, knowledgable and friendly. Inviting the guest to enjoy their amazing art deco home. From your enjoyment with your first glass of wine, through the full multi selection breakfast our stay was everything we could have hoped for and more. We have been very lucky to travel extensively and... More

Our stay here was like arriving in paradise! This is a wonderful B&B with very welcoming hosts! Ian and Miguel are very hospitable and client-oriented. Our stay was very restful and each room is an oasis of repose. There were many choices offered at breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the large bowl of fresh fruit provided each morning. This is an... It's fairly obvious why Le Macassar has such glowing recommendations, it was tremendous and a spectacularly hidden gem. Ian and Miguel made us very welcome, and provided a stunning room, evening meal and a lovely breakfast. For the life of me, I can't understand anyone giving less than Five Stars. Well done guys, and that includes the dogs as well... More

We stayed one night here on our way to the ferry. We knew it was going to be extraordinary, and it was. We were greeted by Ian who welcomed us incredibly warmly, pressing glasses of wine/bubbles into our hands and ushering us into the amazing, original 1920's saloon. There we made polite conversation with not only Ian, but other guests... More

Firstly, I must declare what may be considered a possible conflict of interest which I think may prevent this review from being published. We have known Ian and Miguel for many years, initially through our daughter's contact with Miguel's family. As paying guests, we have stayed at Le Macassar before, and on this occasion we brought our family together from... More

I don't write reviews every time we stay with Ian and Miquel but glancing through the net I came across a rather negative response which just shows people don't pay attention to what is on offer. Actually I must agree a one night quickie stop over is not the best way to enjoy the hedonism which is there for the... More

As the song says - "Where do I begin?" I think it is safe to say that Le Macassar is a one off in the world of B&B's - and maybe B&B is a term that sells it short. This is a home belonging to two of the nicest people you are ever likely to meet and we were welcomed... More

Despite being conveniently in the middle of town Le Macassar is secluded and peaceful with a beautiful art deco theme. It is well placed for WW1 history touring and the nearby Somme Museum in Albert is very interesting amongst other landmarks and museums. Miguel and Ian are fantastic hosts. Their generous hospitality and attention to detail is exceptional in every... More

It was hard to find a title for this review not only because others have already used 'hidden gem' or 'secret haven' but also because Le Macassar is stunning and therefore difficult to describe in one trite phrase. We have just spent two nights with the most gracious of hosts, Ian and Miguel whose chambres d'hôtes is an absolute credit... More

Ring the bell once and wait a few minutes and you are greeted with an amazing surprise once the door is opened. We received a warm, if little breathless welcome from Ian (its along way to the front door) and our first view of the beautiful tranquil garden and a grand house that from the street you would not expect....
