Despite being conveniently in the middle of town Le Macassar is secluded and peaceful with a beautiful art deco theme. It is well placed for WW1 history touring and the nearby Somme Museum in Albert is very interesting amongst other landmarks and museums. Miguel and Ian are fantastic hosts. Their generous hospitality and attention to detail is exceptional in every... More

It was hard to find a title for this review not only because others have already used 'hidden gem' or 'secret haven' but also because Le Macassar is stunning and therefore difficult to describe in one trite phrase. We have just spent two nights with the most gracious of hosts, Ian and Miguel whose chambres d'hôtes is an absolute credit... More

Ring the bell once and wait a few minutes and you are greeted with an amazing surprise once the door is opened. We received a warm, if little breathless welcome from Ian (its along way to the front door) and our first view of the beautiful tranquil garden and a grand house that from the street you would not expect.... We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights and visited several of the World War One Memorial sites, which were both interesting and moving. Miguel and Ian have perfected the art of hospitality and we were very well looked after. We stayed in The Art Deco Suite, which was fabulous. Corbie is small but there are several places within... This B&B was featured in a Sunday Times article about the 100 year anniversary of the start of the Great War and as with its proximity to many WWI sites in the Somme region, handily placed. The town of Corbie itself is quite small but also close to Amiens if the military stuff's not your thing. Le Macassar is in... More

Stayed a couple of times, the House is a real surprise. Doesn't look that special from the street but once you enter the courtyard, you feel you are in a secret paradise. The outside area is a great place to sit and relax and the inside is a walk back in time with great original features back to the Art... More

We have just returned from a short stay at this beautiful guest house, we were touring the battlefields of The Somme so its location was great. The owners Miguel and Ian were very welcoming and their accommodation is immaculate. We would recommend it highly and will definitely return.

I don't normally write reviews but, I feel the need to chime in here. This place is really special. Ian and Miguel are lovely. The wine is great. The rooms are perfect. And...if you are fortunate enough to stay there over a Sunday evening, Miguel's cooking is worth the price of admission! Oh, and did I mention the wine? Loved... More

A second visit did not disappoint. Ian and Miguel make you feel so welcome and its great to meet the other guests staying. Their recommendation for Dinner was brilliant and they made the transport there and back so easy, which means you can have a drink or two without worrying about the gendarmes. Fantastic breakfast as ever and just beautiful... More

Staying at Le Macassar is like stepping back into the early part of the last century, but with the bonus of all of the 'mod cons'. More importantly though is the warmth and generosity offered by the hosts Ian and Miguel, who treat you more like 'long-time friends' than as paying guests. They are both totally obliging and put themselves... More
