I saw details of Le Macassar on a battlefield tour guide, emailed and booked. My wife is a bit reserved about b + b and less outgoing than I. We arrived and beyond expectation followed. Its quite tough travelling a big distance on a motorcycle and the day was hot. Miquel had suggested I may park in the courtyard, and... more

Full disclosure: we already know and love Ian and Miguel. So it's hard not to be biased. But from what I've seen, their warmth and hospitality comes from a genuine interest in their guests, and a love for doing what they do as hosts. But I'm ready to be corrected. We picked Le Macassar as the venue to celebrate a... more

I travel and stay away with work a lot and my experiences with hotels and the like typically range from "get me out of here immediately" to indifference (just another bland hotel.) Actually, thinking back, I think I've only ever been impressed by one hotel on first arrival. Maybe just my high expectations! Make it two now: let me say... more

I booked over the internet from Australia. From the moment I made our booking through to our departure, the entire experience was professional and friendly. The service offered by our hosts was just right - it was generous and appropriate without being in any way intrusive. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Our room... more

Once those large 'barn type' doors were opened another world came into existence. On being greeted by our hosts we experienced their great hospitality. We'll have to try to stay there again, this time on a Satruday night when dinner is served! This exceptionally well presented b&b, with its 'art deco' ambience and wonderful homely feel, was truly an exceptional... more

I concur with previous reviewers about the excellence of the Macassar. It is an Arto Deco house on the main square in the small town of Corbie. From the outside it is unremarkable, but once you enter the inner courtyard, with a lawn and water feature, you enter a different world. The main reception rooms are an Art Deco jewel,... more

A wonderful experience lying behind the white gates in the Square in Corbie. Ian and Miguel are super hosts and their home is something special. The dining experience organised in the next village was tremendous! I doubt you would find anything to rival it!Nothing is too difficult for Ian and Miguel. A return visit is a must! more

We were not suprised to find that Le Mascassar is rated as one of the best 10 B and Bs in Europe and it was all that we hoped for (from other tripadvisor reviews) and far more. It took a bit of time to locate Le Macassar in the town square undergoing renovation but once inside the gates we entered... more

We had had quite an emotional two days doing the battlefield field tour and paying respects to our two great uncles who had died in the Somme so I was recommended to stay at Le Macassar for our last night before heading back to our respective countries. it was a perfect and relaxing end to our trip. Both Ian and... more
