Nice food, lovely hosts. The staff were great, the food was not exciting but beautifully cooked and presented and we really enjoyed our visit. The children were made very welcome. We felt really Christmassy xx

We dropped in on off chance, it was busy but we managed to get served quick, the food was ok but the scampi looked like they were cooked either too quick or the oil might of needed changing, it's obviously a popular place so think you'd have to try to give your own verdict

I stayed here for two nights last week as I needed to be close to the airport. Really nice village pub with a good selection of beers and very good well priced food. The room I stayed in was excellent. Large, clean and with all i needed for a two night visit. All the staff were great and very welcoming... More

Dropped in on during a stormy night. Roaring fire. Friendly and polite staff everywhere, and the food was lovely. Mussels in cream were the best...should have had for a main. Sorry didnt have room for a sweet. Next time...

Visited for an evening meal with our dog. Made to feel very welcome. Food & ale great (bread to share for starters, trio of sausages & veal burger, too full for desert!) All locals seemed to make an effort to chat to us & made a fuss of our 3 year old dog, Monty. Would def come again!

We visited here last week for Sunday Lunch. I am a fussy meat eater and booked this specific pub as it advertised that they did Chicken on the Sunday Lunch menu on their website. As it did not state that it was a sample menu I did not check to see if Chicken would be served on that particular Sunday.... More

I read the reviews so took the family for lunch. It's set in a beautiful area and clean and tidy. The staff were mostly nice but the (landlady?) older woman was a bit miserable. To be fair everyone has a bad day. The biggest disappointment was the food. Some was cold, some burnt. I told the waitress and she apologised... More

I am so sorry you were disappointed with your visit and your lunch. I wish you had made your disappointment know to myself as I would have made sure this was dealt with immediately and as you said provided you wish fresh meals. Again thank you for your view which is appreciated greatly as I can only show the kitchen... More

We stayed here for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary after first staying on our Honeymoon. This is a very special place for us and we always visit when we are in Cornwall. It has a great atmosphere, the food is superb and Sarah & David are lovely people along with all the staff. We were made to feel very welcome. St... More

Lovely food. Lots of choice on the menu. Venison curry is amazing. All diners pleased with their choices. Bubble and smoke recommended. Crab salad very nice but lots of mayo on it so not a low cal option. We did not stay in the hotel.

Although this pub doesn't take bookings (which was a slight inconvenience), it is definitely worth a risk of a waiting time. The staff are friendly and competent and were accommodating to our needs. A great range of local ales were on offer and also various fruit ciders which I'd never even heard of before which was great. The food was... More
