We have been here twice, once 15 years ago, and just this last weekend. Same staff, same atmosphere, and (almost!) the same price. In this part of Austria, nothing changes. And this is a great thing. Our family (boys aged 13 and 17) had a great retreat here...eating some great dinners by the fireplace and playing Risk, Uno, and all... More

For the Christmas holidays my boyfriend and I simply wanted to get out of the city, breathe some fresh air, and have a warm place to sleep at night. What a pleasure it was to find all of these things and so much more at the Treehouse, a cozy family-run hotel tucked away near Linz, Austria. The host and his... More

Where to start? We stayed at the Treehouse Backpacker Hotel twice, once in April and then in August. The first time we were there, it was a small group of 8 other backpackers. The second time was a lot more crowded but both times our stay there was perfect! Treehouse is a bit far from town but you can borrow... More

I have been traveling throughout Europe for alittle over 3 months and can honestly stay this is one of my favorite stops. Very relaxed place with amazing scenery, food, value for money and service that is above and beyond. This is a family owned and run business and you are treated as part of the family as soon as you walk... More

There's a reason why this place has the reviews it does! Had a fantastic time here. It was raining when we arrived, but staff were more than happy to make us feel at home. The meals and drinks are on the pricey side, but portion sizes make it worth it. The 'hostel' is actually a 4 storey house - which... More

This place is fantastic! It is a family run hostel and they make you feel right at home from the moment you get there! The venue is clean, tidy and has everything you could need! Including a movie room which makes you feel like you are sitting at home in your lounge room. This is the best hostel I've stayed... More

This is the best hostel we have stayed at. It has a great family atmosphere and the staff are amazing. Gerhard is an amazing cook. You have to come home for his nightly home cooked meals and deserts when everyone in the hostel sits around the table and chats. It's a great place for a break from the cities. The... More

Best hostel I have stayed at thus far. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering this. The location is absolutely stunning, and you have boundless opportunities to see them. Grabbing a bike and riding down to the lake was definitely my highlight.
