Where to start? We stayed at the Treehouse Backpacker Hotel twice, once in April and then in August. The first time we were there, it was a small group of 8 other backpackers. The second time was a lot more crowded but both times our stay there was perfect! Treehouse is a bit far from town but you can borrow... More

I have been traveling throughout Europe for alittle over 3 months and can honestly stay this is one of my favorite stops. Very relaxed place with amazing scenery, food, value for money and service that is above and beyond. This is a family owned and run business and you are treated as part of the family as soon as you walk... More

There's a reason why this place has the reviews it does! Had a fantastic time here. It was raining when we arrived, but staff were more than happy to make us feel at home. The meals and drinks are on the pricey side, but portion sizes make it worth it. The 'hostel' is actually a 4 storey house - which... More

This place is fantastic! It is a family run hostel and they make you feel right at home from the moment you get there! The venue is clean, tidy and has everything you could need! Including a movie room which makes you feel like you are sitting at home in your lounge room. This is the best hostel I've stayed... More

This is the best hostel we have stayed at. It has a great family atmosphere and the staff are amazing. Gerhard is an amazing cook. You have to come home for his nightly home cooked meals and deserts when everyone in the hostel sits around the table and chats. It's a great place for a break from the cities. The... More

Best hostel I have stayed at thus far. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering this. The location is absolutely stunning, and you have boundless opportunities to see them. Grabbing a bike and riding down to the lake was definitely my highlight.

Fantastic and generous staff who go out of their way to provide a pleasant stay for their guests. They offer a range of activities to do in Grunau and the surrounding areas, but just chilling out next to the icy river is also fantastic. Delicious home cooked meals every night. You will want to stay here forever!

This place is the best! They had me hooked after the first lasagna for lunch. This place is a must see for any backpackers travelling around Europe. It's a place where you can get home cooked meals, cooked by the owner, an ex-chef, Gerhard! while your here make sure you do archery in the alps, visit the picturesque waterfall complete... More
