Fine design, tasteful and simple outline. You feel immediately comfortable and at home, with plenty of privacy. It is spacious, but not too big. The staff is friendly and efficient, you forget that it's their profession, they just feel to be at the right place. Don't expect golden diamonds everywhere or post-barroque crystal chandelliers. None of that, but just contemporary,... More

Good location but not as luxurious as they would have you to believe, Quality of build material and, quality of finishing not up to standard.Even the main building (reception + restaurante) could do with a lick of paint to brighten it up! The staff are friendly and helpful but, a appear a little amateur. They would be better off not... More

An all suite hotel by Brazilian architect (Marcio Kogan) with distinct modern interiors (picture polished concrete/stone floors complimented by carefully chosen wooden furniture). The grounds overlook the Alentejo countryside and the hilltop castle of Montemor-o-Novo. The first suite we were given was affected by damp in the bathroom, but the replacement sky suite (and the speed with which the reception... More

Perhaps the only word I can use to describe this place is unique. The setting is great and aesthetically, the design of the hotel looks like it is something out of a midcentury design catalog. From the Tom Dixon-esque lights and gorgeous fireplaces and furniture, this place is very well decorated. Visiting in the winter we enjoyed the warmth of... More

This is our 4th stay in 4 years and each time we are loving every minute; the utter peaceful setting, the very generous space of their suites and views towards the castle and small town of Montemor o Novo, the charming staff, without exception, the Spa for a wonderful massage by highly trained professionals and last but not least an... Maybe early Spring is not the best time of year to arrive at L'AND. The vines are bare and the grounds generally are quite unkempt and the paintwork is tired BUT the tasting menu provided some of the best food I have ever eaten - each course a flavourful treat on its own but never too rich or too heavy... Been here for lunch (absolutely recommend lunch so you can enjoy the views of the bucolic Alentejo) and had a superb lunch. As starters we had a game pie and the scallops à bras. Both were both very traditional (the flavors ) and creative (the presentation and mix) . For main courses we had the pork loin and the red... More

Being a fan of Marcio Kogan, we really wanted to stay here to experience his fabulous interiors. What we found was a hotel which could be amazing but lacks atmosphere and maintenance and feels a little bit unloved. The rooms (we had one of their Sky Suites) are gorgeous, with huge, supremely comfortable beds but we were woken a lot... More

We stayed in this hotel in august 2012 when it just opened, and the beautiful architecture, fantastic spatious rooms and good food made our vacation unforgettable. Temperatures were super-high (41degC) but you get used to that. Staying with a 2 year old at the time, made the separate living room very useful when the little one went to sleep, as... More

This was a stellar stay. The hotel staff provides a personalized stay, asking you to answer a form in advance. Afterwards, they keep giving you surprises accordingly. The packages are a good value for money, and you can have your bottle of wine of the Vineyards labeled with the picture or phrase that you want. The restaurant is fantastic, and... More
