We have just returned from a fantastic week staying in carriage house. The accomodation is superb. It has all the facilities you wish for. All the fixtures and fittings are high quality. The play equipment is great, our 3 yr old spent many a happy hour on the trampoline. Whilst the older members of the family enjoyed playing pool etc... More

We stayed in Doxford House as an extended family of 8 for a week in August. The house, facilities and surroundings were exceptional and we couldn't have asked for more. There was masses of space which allowed everyone somewhere to find their own area to relax and the children particularly enjoyed the play area which gave them plenty of fresh... More

We have just returned from a week in Fox Cover, part of Doxford Cottages (not to be confused with Doxford Farm Cottages) and wanted to sing the praises of this perfect cottage. The easy and clear online booking system, clear website with very accurate photographs, perfect quiet location, well equipped cottage and magnificent grounds all contributed to a first class... This is now an annual family gathering and we rent 3 houses together, already booked for the same week next year. The houses are lovely, spacious, well appointed and a perfect base for family activities, games room is great for the kids (and adults), lovely walk around the lake, lots of birds and wildlife, even lots of books to read... Tomorrow we head home but I'll put it to the back of my mind for now. The quality and peace if this place is second to none. We're in coach house but have previously stayed in swinney, Shellrig and long lands. They are all just different version of same excellent quality design. I'd recommend you come here but I feel... Stayed at Doxford House for the weekend - what a treat! It was bitterly cold outside but the cottage was cosy warm and very inviting! Doxford House is very very spacious, and a fantastic kitchen. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the bedrooms were beautiful and the beds were really comfy, I appreciated the gorgeous cotton sheets! We wished we could have... More

I have just returned from a week in Doxford House and marvel at how over the 6 years i have visited the properties and grounds have maintained exactly the same standard. This must be down to the hard work and dedication of John and Sue, and there team. The comfort you will find on arrival from a long or indeed... More

As seasoned 'holiday cottagers' may we say how impressed we were with Fox Cover, we have stayed in properties meant for 4 that have been smaller! Everything you could want was available, making our 'emergency supplies box' redundant. The cottage was extremely clean and well appointed & will say that it made us feel very relaxed about our stay. Sue... More

We have recently stayed here with our 2 year-old child and absolutely loved it. Sue and John couldn't of been more helpful. We have stayed in various self catering cottages in Northumberland and can honestly say this has been the best and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.
