I have just returned from a week in Doxford House and marvel at how over the 6 years i have visited the properties and grounds have maintained exactly the same standard. This must be down to the hard work and dedication of John and Sue, and there team. The comfort you will find on arrival from a long or indeed... More

As seasoned 'holiday cottagers' may we say how impressed we were with Fox Cover, we have stayed in properties meant for 4 that have been smaller! Everything you could want was available, making our 'emergency supplies box' redundant. The cottage was extremely clean and well appointed & will say that it made us feel very relaxed about our stay. Sue... More

We have recently stayed here with our 2 year-old child and absolutely loved it. Sue and John couldn't of been more helpful. We have stayed in various self catering cottages in Northumberland and can honestly say this has been the best and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at Doxford Cottages several times and loved every minute. The cottages are beautiful, very clean and well equipped. There is an excellent play field with a trampoline, swings, ride-ons etc which occupies the children for much time. Behind the cottages, tucked behind the trees is a picturesque lake with a well maintained pathway around the perimeter which... More

A lovely place to stay and relax. We stayed in Fox Cover and absolutely loved it, we had a 9 month old baby with us and the cottage was perfect. A great selection of books and DVDs, a superb games room and lovely walks around the estate meant there was always plenty to do. The cottage itself was spotless with... More

We stayed in Doxford House, on the Doxford Estate. We had a truly wonderful time, the house is so beautiful and spacious - you certainly don't get on top of each other here! It has everything you could wish for, and more - even Sky Sports for sports fans. If you're not there's a great selection of book and DVDs.... More

We have holidayed elsewhere for a year or two but returned to Northumberland and also to Doxford. We were blessed with wonderful weather and the children loved Embleton Bay. Coach House was bigger than we needed but we loved the space. This time we went on three of the walks around the estate, bribing the children to go on the... More

I have just returned from a week at Doxford House where five adults and two children were on holiday, the house was lovely but we naively thought a proper baby cot would be available not a travel cot. The baby did not sleep in it at all and spent the nights in her parent's bed which is not conducive to... More

I am sorry you were not happy with our cots, but we do state in the Information section that we can supply, free of charge, Babydan Travel cots. I am sorry that you had not noticed that and were inconvenienced. Doxford Cottages sit in the centre of a 3500 acre private estate; we do ask that guests do not make... More

We stayed for a week in July in Doxford House - a group of seven, two adults, our three teenage / almost teenage children and two of their friends. Firstly, the quality of accommodation was outstanding. We regularly stay in self catered cottages/villas on holiday, and Doxford House was amongst the best. The quality and range of fittings was excellent,... More

We stayed as a family (5 adults, 1 small child and a toddler) in Doxford Cottage and were happy with the cleanliness and facilities. We arrived on a Friday. Just outside our cottage is a communal area in which we used on the Saturday when our neighbours were leaving. We used this area as it was a safe area for... More

We are very sorry that we didn’t meet your expectations for your family holiday. As you can see from our other Trip Advisor reviews your experience is not the norm. We do have an excellent games field where adults and children can play football, use the trampoline or climbing frame. This is an ideal and safe place for children of... More
