Actually, didn't have the chance to visit the hotel. My problems started at reservation time. Be aware - with those guys you can lose hundreds of pounds for nothing. Let me demonstrate you how to do it: 1. You call them and ask for availability 2. Yes, they have the room you need available (great!). But to guarantee your reservation... More

Having been invited here for a taster evening for our upcoming wedding we were expecting a lovely selection of food but what we were served, was beyond our expectations. Stunning starters and amazing mains, all using locally sourced products. Alan the chef and Samantha the Wedding planner were more than happy to sit down with us and discuss all our... More

We enjoyed our stay at The Dog Inn very much. The staff are relaxed and friendly and the service very good. Our dinner was excellent and the breakfast very good indeed. We stayed in a wonderful room with a four poster bed and really valued the opportunity to feel the sense of history. It's not often you can sleep in... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights (26,27,28 March). We were lucky with the weather and had 2 lovely full days visiting Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay - all of which, we thoroughly enjoyed. 3 nights for the price of two in many places (albeit on special voucher deals) was a distinct advantage. And, bus stops right outside... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights using a Living Social voucher which gave us breakfast both mornings and a three course evening meal included.I had read reviews and was slightly worried as not all were positive. We need not have worried. From the minute we checked in we were impressed. The receptionist,Chelsea, was very friendly and doubled up... More

We have just returned from a weekend break at the DOG INN. We found this offer on groupon. We upgraded to four poster bedroom for a additional fee and paid another fee for Friday and Saturday night, all of which we thought was fair. This is a very strange set up. There was a very sweet girl on when we... More

We had 2 rooms booked for the Blazing Donkey when we arrived we were told we had been moved to teir sister hotel The Dog Inn, so our only complaint would be it would have been nice to have been told in advance to save the diversion. The Dog Inn was really nice, rooms were comfortable and spacious the food... More

This pub / hotel has the potential to be brilliant - however, a change in management / ownership is required. Urgently. We were given the keys to our room, told it was up "steep" stairs - steep is an understatement - I would class them as dangerous, very small steps and turn towards the bottom meaning virtually no space for...
