A little delayed writing this, we stayed for 2 nights of the bank holiday weekend, and had a great time, the food is truly mouth watering and everyone was so friendly, a really nice feel even among other guests staying at the same time. Yes the room was small, Room 2, I think, but it is an old building, but... More

Good food and friendly, helpful staff. Needs some TLC but things were improving daily. Avoid rooms 1 and 2 if you have trouble with stairs as really steep and difficult to manoeuvre. Outside pleasant and breakfast good plumbing in rooms 1 and 2 loud.

Stayed here for 3 nights in August and like others used a voucher deal. The accommodation was fine, lots of character, I don't know what people expect for a very old building!!! Had the most superb top class meal on our first night (which would have cost me a fortune where I live) and complimented the chef Richard. Staff were... More

We stayed in room 2, and yes it is a little snug and the bathroom makes a bit of a noise (apparently it is a masterated system - whatever that is!). The owner said that they are more of a restaurant than a hotel, but, to be honest, it may have been small, but you could call it quaint. The... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a voucher bought directly from the hotel. It was good value for money as it included a 3 course dinner on both nights and breakfast both mornings. We were in room 3 which was a large room with a double bed. It had loads of character but looked a bit drab, the light... More

Wasn't expecting much as the reviews are pretty awful so we were very pleasantly surprised. True the place is tired but at 800 years old it is entitled to be! We were put in the much maligned room 2. Yes it is small but we were not planning a party! Stunning old oak panel and beams. Bedding and towels were... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a Living Social deal. From minute one we felt the staff were so helpful and polite, so we do not understand other peoples reviews on lack of customer service. The staff could not do more for us, they were very understanding when we had to change dates around etc due to personal circumstances.... More

We stayed on a Saturday night (2 couples + 2 dogs) and were placed in rooms 7 & 8, which was really great, as it was like having our own 2-storey wing. Entrance was separate at the back of the Inn and led straight onto the rear patio. The room was really quiet and we slept very well in a... More

Have just arrived home after a two night deal with Living Social. After reading previous reviews we were not really looking forward to our visit. On arrival we were met by the owner/manager. No hello or welcome just a "you cannot book into your room until 3 o'clock!". We left went for a drive to nearby Sandwich wondering if we... More

The village and surroundings are beautiful. The Dog Inn is really old and lovely the food was amazing not a massive menu for choice but all cooked fresh to order. The afternoon tea was divine. My only complaint was the noise due to such an old building we were above the kitchen and door leading to restaurant and all you... More
