Just home from a break - disgusted. We paid for £99 for a voucher 2 nights - one dinner and 2 breakfasts included. We had already stayed at their sister hotel 'the blazing donkey'. When I rang to reserve a room I was told they were fully booked apart from the bridal suite with four poster bed. Was told by... More

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast stay, paid in full in advance, but when we arrived they did not have any rooms so they sent us to a B&B in next village for one night and to a pub in Sandwich for second night but these rooms were terrible so we refused them , then... More

My daughter booked us a special overnight stay, which included the accommodation and a meal, when we arrived, we were given our room and opened the door to find that it was already occupied. We returned to the reception to be told that the people in that room were part of a four person group that were having tea on... More

THIS IS THE MOST SHOCKING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN ALL THE MANY TRIPS I HAVE TAKEN!! My fiancé and I are regular travellers both in the UK and abroad and love a weekend away every few weeks. I booked a Saturday night at this hotel 12 weeks in advance, for the 2 of us and my teenage daughter... More

We stayed at The Dog inn mid July, a lovely friendly welcome from Chelsea the young lady on reception. We checked in to our room and were very happy lovely large room with lots of character, wonderful beams & a super comfy bed. The food was truly fantastic, breakfast was cooked to order and perfect. Our dinner was even better,... More

We booked our wedding a year to the day in advance. We said we did not want a disco (my absolute worse nightmare) but a small band. The owner said he would apply for a special license for this. The evening before the wedding it emerged that this had not been applied for and the owner denied all knowledge of... More

I love this place. I have given it great reviews every time. The food is good and the staff are friendly so I booked up to stay the night for my birthday with my husband knowing we would have a nice time. Unfortunately it just didn't happen this time. First off we went in to book in and there was... More

Starting with the good, the evening meal we had was outstanding, 3 courses, all cooked fresh and was really tasty as well as great presentation. The hotel is a historic building in a very picturesque village but although it has character, there was very little atmosphere. Unfortunately the hotel is very tired and is in need of tidying up because... More

Stayed here over the weekend with my husband and our friends and was very impressed with the excellent service we received. Alan the Manager was great and couldn't do enough for us and Sylvia the housekeeper/waitress was friendly and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
