A quiet little place with friendly staff and a welcome pick-up from the railway station, this hostel was one of our favourites. The common area is large and cosy with beanbags and large armchairs to slink into. The hostel dorms are very comfortable with nice wooden bunk beds and nice garden views. I liked the attention to detail in this... More

Staff are all extremely helpful, if you have any day plans or even future travel plans around Japan just go down and ask! They're more than happy to help. I had no issues with showering, each floor has a single shower but as a night owl, I had a shower at about 8 every night with no line or no... More

K's house is excellent - so much attention to detail and everything that an independent traveller needs. The giant kitchen is extremely well stocked and there are ample lounge spaces for guests. Everything is kept spotless. The location is a 15 minute walk from the station and close to the lake. Only small complaints were of the two windows in... More

Very approachable staff, clean rooms and great service! Make sure you schedule your return going to Kawaguchi station because the hotel is only scheduled to go there twice and the seats are limited to 7-8 person. I loved my time here. Unfortunately, in 'filling time' between Osaka and Tokyo I thought one night here would suffice. I would've happily spent 3 or 4 days here. It's a really quaint little town, reminded me a little of northern Italy. The hostel itself is in a great location, about 10 mins walk from the lake. If you call... More

The good: - Beds are comfortable - Hostel is clean - Close to food options - Good kitchen and common areas The bad: - Only two bathrooms and showers per floor - Wifi is hopeless and doesn't work outside reception area It's not bad, it's not fantastic. It's just a hostel with all the facilities one hopes to get from... More

We stayed only 2 nights here. It's got all the basics a hostel should have. Reasonably clean, shower was hot. We had a traditional Japanese room, which was fun for a couple nights. My only complaint was the shared toilets really stank. Of some awful air freshener they kept in them. Like mothballs. The location was great for exploring Mt... More

Good location, halfway between the train station/bus terminal and the recommended viewing spots at lake kawaguchi. Hostel has a well equipped kitchen, and good amount of lounge/relaxing areas. Also clean, and friendly staff. A tip for traveling to the Fuji five lakes: check the weather forecast before going, as bad weather/cloud will mean a wasted trip if you are here... More

This was our second stop in our Japan trip. We called when we arrived at the train station using the pay phone and was promptly picked up. Our room had a bathroom which included all the standard amenities like shampoo and body wash. There are two washing machines.. One on the 1st and 3rd floor. We had no trouble using... More

They picked us up from the train station. Which made it a lot easier trying to find the hostel with our bags. Well spoken English aswell by all staff. The 6 bed dorm room was really nice with plenty of space. The beds could have been more comfortable but they were fine. Great wifi and great kitchen and lounge area.... More
